Hurricane chaser and filmmaker Josh Morgerman hasnt been heard from on Twitter for two days as he rode out Hurricane Dorian in Marsh Harbour, located on Grand Abaco Island in the Bahamas.
Morgermans last tweet was on Sunday, Sept. 1, prompting fears from fans, meteorologists, storm chasers on Twitter.
He wrote in his last tweet: 11:40 am. Pounding. CRASHING. Boards prying off windows. Were moving children to a safe space, wrapping them in blankets. 969 mg. #DORIAN.
Minutes before, he wrote: 11:15 am. 978 mb & falling fast. Just outside eyewall, but winds will damaging. Holed up with six others in concrete room with chairs against the door. #DORIAN.
But after two days of being incommunicado, some began to fear for the worst.
AccuWeathers Reed Timmer asked on Monday night: Has anyone heard from @iCyclone yet? He road out Hurricane Dorian at a school in Marsh Harbour.

he could have made it, no cell towers left.
You would think a hurricane rider would be smart enough to get a Satphone
If he’s alive I’m sure he will not be top priority for the USCG to evacuate and I’m also pretty sure there is no internet or cell phone service on the island.
Doesn’t he have a wind powered phone?
Power is out, cell towers are damaged, down, or have no power. Unless he has a satellite phone it may be days before we hear much from the Bahamas.
Hurricane hunted.
Is this guy an idiot?
Lets trade him for Cantore
Exactly...
I wouldn’t count him out yet, but I would be worried.
Power is probably out across that regions.
I think that's a euphemism for 'man with a death wish'.
Apparently the author used the millenial spelling guide.
And he brought children with him. SMH.
Could be locals.
He was at home with his family. The only “safer” place for him, since few could get off the island, was the primary school shelter he moved to (there is a picture on someone else’s feed of his arrival). Of course, that school lost its roof, and he is listed as one of the many missing.
He was sheltering at a local primary school with Bahamian locals. Those were Bahamian kids.
Do you think he found it?
You won’t be catching me ‘hunting 4 hurricanes’, but some people like doing it. Tornadoes as well.
These are folks who need a high and sustained level of risk before the adrenaline starts pumping and aboslute excitement has been achieved.
Most people (like me) think the Hurricane Hunters are Loco.
But society needs it’s risk takers. That’s often where you will find the best surgeons, philosophers, engineers, humanitarians, entrepreneurs, mountain climbers, astronauts, top caliber artists and even top caliber presidents.
They are usually not easy people to live or to work with.
Maybe he's drunk.
Who cares so much about Twitter anyway?
