Power is out, cell towers are damaged, down, or have no power. Unless he has a satellite phone it may be days before we hear much from the Bahamas.

I wouldn’t count him out yet, but I would be worried.

Power is probably out across that regions.

Handheld, waterproof, text to satellite anywhere on the globe. Unit cost is about $300 new, $30 bucks a month for service. Contains an SOS function. If you are going into harms way off the grid, these are a must.
