Something was amiss at the ruins of Iglesia Colorada, an ancient Incan village in the foothills of the Andes. In the remains of what had been a garbage dump, among ancient food scraps and shards of discarded pottery, researchers discovered four skulls. No bodies, no formal burial, no jewelry to carry on to an afterlife — just the skulls. No one knew why they were there.
For over 15 years, since the skulls were uncovered in 2003, the mystery has baffled archaeologists. But two researchers at the National Museum of Natural History in Santiago, Chile, have proposed an explanation: The skulls paint a picture of an Incan reign of terror, in which the heads of four villagers were put on display as a warning to inhabitants.
The period from the late 1400s to the early 1500s was a tumultuous time for much of South America. During these years, the Incan empire was slowly expanding its reach across the Andes. While civilizations had long existed in the valleys of the Andes, they were mostly isolated, said study co-author Francisco Garrido, the curator of archaeology at the National Museum of Natural History. While some of these places probably joined the empire without much resistance, others weren't so amenable, he added.

The Incans were probably as horrible as the Aztecs. However such a revelation doesn’t fit the pre-mandated “superior pre-european indigenous culture” meme where everyone lived in peace and harmony until the Europeans appeared. Expect the anti-white propaganda to continue.

As I understand it there is increasing awareness that “Clovis Man” was European. Which puts the lie to so called “First Nations”. Just today we had a thread that showed pictures of “mummified ancients” from the Andes that clearly had long, red hair. The libtards have far too much invested in the “First Peoples” hoax that no one can say so outside of a few forums like FReeRepublic.
The 1400s to 1500s were not “ancient times.” That was the Middle Ages.
They were there because someone put them there.
More like the the Renaissance which spanned the 14th and 17th centuries. The Middle Ages lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. So there was a bit of overlap in how scholars label these eras.
Except there was no “Renaissance” in South America.
The Romans would have understood the Inca quite well.
In fact, they had a great deal in common.
Both road builders, both empire builders, both certain they were the pentacle of civilization in a world full of barbarians.

Different empires, different timelines; those years would have been the Ming Dynasty in China, very late in their history
But it seems to be what would be the equivalent of the early Roman empire in it’s development, even though 1500 years later.

Building and maintaining a successful empire in previous centuries involved diplomacy that consisted of giving your neighbors a choice of accepting the conquerors or death-if those terms weren’t accepted, you raped their women and girls, slaughtered a lot people, stole all their stuff and forced the survivors into slavery-the Romans made a great success of that method, and a lot of empires after them...
