This is the dramatic moment the three thieves who raided a New York jewelry store on Sunday launched their brazen heist by whipping out their guns and taking the employees hostage.
New footage released by the New York Police Department shows how one of the robbers posed as a customer in a private meeting with three employees in the back room of Avianne and Co. in Midtown's Diamond District, before pulling out his gun.
The NYPD shared the 40-second clip of additional surveillance footage on Monday morning asking for help in identifying the thieves.
The clip shows the suspect, who has shoulder-length dreadlocks and is dressed in a blue blazer and hat, dramatically pull out a silver handgun from under the table and order the employees to get on the ground.

Sort of shocked they don’t have better security with all the bling.
Clearly wasn’t me, I don’t have a dew-rag, or any hats like that.
And then the employees all produced pistols and shotguns and thoroughly ventilated the perp.
Oh. wait.
This is New York City.
Huh another win for gun control.
Not.
Some jewelers I know have fake gems in their cases just for this very reason.
It’s DM again, SHOCKING, TERRIFYING, etc...
Clearly fake news...
Guns are heavily regulated in New York City, so this kind of crime just cannot happen.
Quality CGI though...
[Did I really need a sarcasm tag? C’mon now...it’s ME.]
Ping.
I think almost all of my neighbors have guns because of their businesses. Mostly legal :)
It’s not impossible to get a carry permit. Just takes time and 4 referrals :)
“The store boasts celebrity clientele, including popular rappers like Migos and Blueface, and have had their gold chains and diamond encrusted pieces featured in GQ magazine.”
I think I’m beginning to see the problem here...
I think all of my neighbors have guns because. All legal.
A carry permit isn’t required. But you can get one for out of state reciprocity. Takes a little time, but no referrals.
We don’t have a “Diamond District”. We do have a couple of not too terrible jewelry stores. I recommend against robbing them They deal in gems and precious metals. Gold and silver, of course, but I think they have some brass and lead available as well.
They whipped out their what?
“shoulder-length dreadlocks and is dressed in a blue blazer and hat”
Sorry, but someone with shoulder length dreadlocks is not there for some bulk diamond purchase. Call me racist, I don’t care.
I know the diamond district of course.
Not easy to rob.
A little easier if the seller is stupid and naive
No sympathy here. If you live and do business in NY City where the Stasi prevent you from defending yourselves and your mayor encourages criminal activity, these things will happen.
Your mayor and state officials want these things to happen. If they didn’t, they would either stop them or let you defend yourselves.
Why is this even news? Is it news every year when 4-legged sheep get sheared?
Damn Irish...
You get what you vote for.
Go easy. They got to have money for clothes. /s
