Over the weekend, HBO host Bill Maher slammed the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement, commonly referred to as the BDS Movement. According to Maher, the BDS Movement is a "bulls**t" litmus test for Democrats. Specifically, he was referencing Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who have been very vocal about boycotting Israel. "BDS is a bulls**t purity test by people who want to appear woke and have actually slept through history class," Maher said, at which point the audience broke out into a thunderous applause. "It's predicated on this notion that is very shallow thinking, that the Jews are in Israel are mostly white and the Palestinians are browner so they [Palestinians] must be innocent and correct and the Jews must be wrong. As if occupation came out of the blue, that this completely peaceful people found themselves occupied. Forget about the infectadas and the suicide bombings and the rockets and how many wars?"

This is all well and good. I despise him too. He is just as bad as they are and with him criticizing them that gets them off the hook from having to remove them from office. I would say this is probably a ploy to show somebody in their ranks actually criticizing them but they will keep them in power. Prove me wrong.
Every once in a while, a Leftardnik leaves the plantation - however temporarily that may be - and gets it right.

There are a few old-fashioned libs — Alan Dershowitz and Camille Paglia come to mind — who I find occasionally make a good point and who aren’t personally obnoxious.
Maher’s occasional flashes of insight tend to be drowned out by his nasty personality. Remember that he attacks Christianity with almost as much zeal as he attacks Islam.
I can only imagine how he treats his staff.

I kinda compare him to Sam Harris. When he’s right, he’s dead on right. Sam is great until he gets into religion. Maher must feel terribly schizophrenic.

While his father was Irish, his mother is a Hungarian Jew. Bill was raised as a Catholic, as that was the religion of his father. However, at age 13 his father stopped taking Bill & his sister to Catholic Church because of his father’s disagreement with the Catholic religious doctrine on birth control.
