NYPD fires Officer Daniel Pantaleo in chokehold death of Eric Garner
NYPD cop Daniel Panatelo has been fired for causing the chokehold death of Eric Garner, Police Commissioner James O’Neill announced Monday.
O’Neill’s widely expected decision to fire the embattled cop endorsed the recommendation of a deputy commissioner who presided over Pantaleo’s departmental trial earlier this year.
It also came after Mayor Bill de Blasio proclaimed that Garner’s family was “going to get justice…in the next 30 days” during a Democratic presidential primary debate on July 31.

Just what I was thinking, the cop wasn’t tall enough to get his arm all the way around, and when he did when Garner was on the ground it was only for a few seconds then he released him after which Garner was still concious and speaking about not being able to breathe. He reportedly had very bad asthma and it seems that he was having an attack.
What I find outrageous was after he passed out nobody does anything! They just leave him laying there, to me that’s the real crime here but it was ignored by the media and race baiters because a black female Sargeant was supervising the arrest.
This is just one more example out of countless examples of the media and race baiters twisting facts, ignoring facts, taking things completely out of context to fit an agenda and help Rats win the black vote by making the low infos think that the evil racist white cop murders a black man solely for selling a cigarette, and because that scumrat Bill DeBlasio needs support they fired this cop.

Amazing what facts are compared to nonsense
Man loses life to gang of cops over a filthy law passed by filthy politicians. Cops will robotically enforce any filthy law filthy politicians tell them to.
Garner said to the cops "this stops today" intimating that he was going to resist arrest and not go to jail willingly. All cops know that once someone says "I'm not going back" or something to that affect, it's probably going to get dirty. Should he have died? Of course not, but if he had not resisted he would have spent a few hours in a holding cell, received no punishment for the infraction, and would still be alive today.
When one walks on an icy sidewalk it must be recognized that he can slip,fall backward and wind up on a respirator for 30 years due to a massive brain injury.When one resists arrest he must recognize that he can suffer a fatal heart attack or stroke.
I have no sympathy for anyone injured,or killed,while resisting arrest...regardless of how "unfair" that arrest might be.

Sorry, he offered no threat to anyone. Saying “I’m not going back to jail” Is not license to be jumped on and choked and thrown to the grown. There was ZERO action taken by the suspect that warranted that physical escalation by this officer, and the use of that hold was against policy.
Trying to spin this as the cop did nothing wrong is absolute NONSENSE. The man is surrounded by what 5 or so cops if memory serves. He was not being or even threatening physical violence against anyone. One cop decided to jump him, which lead to the entire situation.
Had the man engaged in ANY sort of physical threat, then fine, subdue him, but if all he is doing is arguing his case verbally, he is not a threat, and there was ZERO cause for the physical escalation.
No its not smart to argue with the police, but that doesn’t mean they get to assault you either. Cop should have been fired instantly, they did not “diffuse” a situation, they escalated it, needlessly.
People need to stop watching TV cop shows and Action movies, this was a completely avoidable situation, that was escalated by the cops... For no good reason. I have no doubt the cop in question had no desire to kill this man, but there was no reason for him to jump him.. None.
Had the man truly escalated then situation be different, but it wasn’t. Cop effed up royal, shouldn’t take years for him to lose his badge over it.
My view is - Progressive nanny-staters in NY put taxes on cigarettes of $10/pack. They also micro-manage and ban even simple activities like selling "loosies." But these same Progressives act all surprised an outraged when an otherwise unemployable 350 lb fat-ass takes over a corner selling loosies to drug addicts who can't afford anything else, and people start to complain to the cops to do something.
Of course NY's communist mayor is ready to pounce on any political narrative.
I can't wait for NY City to go bankrupt. Please God let it happen soon.

Thank you for mentioning the black female police sergeant who was supervising the arrest, and who later testified that Pantaleo did nothing wrong. One would think in the interest of fairness that she needs to be fired too.
