Vanity - thoughts on new criminal proceedings for mass shootings

Posted on 08/04/2019 8:33:16 PM PDT by Treeless Branch

There are never any discussions on how to prosecute these horrific crimes. How about this for a start? All thoughts are welcome. Any shootings with five or more people killed where there is evidence with NO reasonable doubt e.g. manifesto and video evidence, there will be a jury trial in federal court within six months of the murders. And then one and only one appeal directly to the US Supreme Court that is automatically moved to the top of the docket. The ruling on appeal must be issued within three months. If the verdict is upheld, automatic sentence of death will be carried out via the same method the convicted murderer used within one week e.g. if guns were used, firing squad.

Capital Murder is a state crime and in this case the people of El Paso County can put him and trial and convict him.

Let's declare various high ranking Dems' houses to be "2nd Amendment Sanctuary" zones and send the nutburgers there.

Maybe then they'll stop all these false flags.

Here’s a better one. When the person is caught in the act and alive, televised hanging in 48 hours....right before the lotto numbers are announced.

Problem is it will take years if not decades. My proposal makes it happen within a year.

Swift trial and public hanging after conviction and a super-expedited appeals process.

There’s no reason that Congress can’t pass a bill making mass shootings a Federal crime, punishable by death.

The sentence needs to be swiftly imposed to be effective.

Shoot them on the spot.
No need for a trial.

People who want to change our laws are not, by definition, conservative.

Our laws already say how to handle criminals. Let’s use it.

".... jury trial in federal court within six months of the murders...."

I think you're barking up the wrong tree. Your basic premise is flawed because these mass shootings are not federal crimes.

Capital murder is a state's crime, not a federal one.

These types of crimes are prosecuted in the states in the jurisdiction where they occurred, not in the federal courts.

Judicial punishment is not a deterrent to these crimes. If you want to mandate the death penalty for these acts, that’s great, you have my support. Will do nothing for prevention.

Too much time..
The person who assassinated Pres. McKinley was prosecuted, found guilty - and an execution carried out - in about 90 days.

3 months should be sufficient. AND - the law needs to block courts from considering how the poor little murderer might have been mistreated as a child, or was bullied one time too many. Courts need to be blocked from pretending that ‘capital punishment’ is not Constitutional - when it is directly mentioned in the Constitution.

The Feds will get their shot the El Paso shooter, just like they got a piece of Dylann Roof.

Ok then pass this new system at the state level. I was trying to devise a realistic way to quickly prosecute these crimes to actually act as a deterrent and to obtain legitimate justice.

I think a better way would be to put them in a chamber with thousands of bullet ants and botflies. Televise it. Make their end about a month long. At the end of the 30 days flamethrower their carcass and then cremate and flush the cremains down a toilet. Force all the FTC regulated networks to cover the whole thing in a PIP on screen 24/7.

What power delegated to Congress in the Constitution would authorize that?

See here’s the problem! You are asking the Nine Black Robed Pukes to actually work! That is antithetical to their “lofty position.” We have allowed them to be a bunch of layabouts, contemplating their navels while trying to deduce how many angels can dance on the head of a pin! Sorry, but you could put nine common sense people picked out of the phone book and get better outcomes. I mean who needs to write volumes about every f*cking thing they touch? In many respects, they are much worse than the Congress because you have to wait around decades for them to die. Time to go Ruthie, and take Breyer with you!
