SAN FRANCISCO (CN) — Building on a 2016 ban on city-funded travel to states with anti-LGBT laws, San Francisco officials Tuesday voted unanimously to extend that ban to states with restrictive abortion laws.
“It will expand the existing ordinance to states that have waged war on our constitutionally protected right to an abortion,” San Francisco Supervisor Vallie Brown, who introduced the proposal, said at a board meeting Tuesday.
Five states — Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Mississippi — passed laws this year that ban abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. Missouri also enacted a law banning abortions after eight weeks, and Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed into law a prohibition on all abortions in the state, except when “necessary to prevent a serious health risk” to the woman.
The law approved by San Francisco Tuesday not only bans city-funded travel, it also forbids the city from contracting with companies headquartered in states with restrictive abortion laws or anti-LGBT laws.
Brown said the purpose of the ban is to ensure the city’s economic might aligns with its social values.
“Let’s put our money where our mouth is,” Brown said.
Every supervisor on the city’s 11-member board supported the proposed ordinance as a co-sponsor. Though it was unanimously approved it will require one more board vote before going to the mayor’s office for signature.
In 2018, California passed a law that prohibits state-sponsored travel to states that allow discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. California restricts state-paid travel to Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas.

Like California with its ban of state-funded travel to “anti-LGBT states,” or whatever, yet 90% of people in those states probably are completely unaware of this boycott, because it has zero affect on them.

IMO, those “five states” should ban government-paid travel to San Francisco until SFRAN cleans up its filthy, disease-promoting streets. A quarantine on any travelers who go to San Francisco should be considered. SFRAN’s silly governing “elite” has foolishly created a clear danger to the health of its citizens and the health of tourists alike.
Meanwhile, ICE should present new ads to Central American countries that show current photos of the garbage-strewn “camps” in San Francisco and warn:
Don’t come HERE! It’s safer where you live now!
Citizens of these 5 states can breathe easier knowing that San Franciscans will not be tracking human fecal matter into their states, & wont be coming with typhus, the plague, & STDs either.
since the taking of innocent human life is counter to abortion, the founders must have believed it violated the RIGHT TO LIFE as stated by Jefferson in the declaration.
I don’t know a philosopher or source from the 1700s that would advocate abortions. Most abortions were poison or instrument induced and hidden for the shame and sandal that might ensue. Now of course we have no shame.

Every one of these States can have a lot of fun if they so choose, and maybe save America in the progress.
Each of these States should DEMAND that ALL Payments for ANYTHING sold or shipped to California be made in Gold and Silver Coin as Article 1, section 10 of the US Constitution MANDATES!!! This would Include All Natural gas, Oil, Fuel, Electricity,... Let’s see how they react when the Supreme Court upholds the Demand for Payment as laid out in Article 1, section 10, effectively putting the 3rd Central Bank out of Business.

I’ve been thinking about visiting SF, but when I think it is a Poop city, I decided to go someplace else and not LA either for the same reason.
