Wasn’t Catherine the Great a bit on the Chubby side?...................

The question is. Did the seamy method of her death actually happen?
When my wife and I saw “Calendar Girls” I thought, that Hellen lady must have been a hottie back in the day. I didn’t give it much thought until we saw her in Red. At that point I thought, she must have been acting when she was younger, so in a moment of boredom I checked IMDB.
That’s where I discovered the skinny on ‘Age of Consent”.
Curious as to how they’ll portray the myth of the Potempkin villages.
This just makes me sad, thinking of Game of Thrones and how wrong it all went. Danaerys Targaryeon built her career on freeing slaves and taking power from the corrupt:
Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons.
And then she burned about a million people to death for no good reason. That show had such promise.
Helen is getting some good roles at this stage of her career, unlike what usually happens to older women actresses.
Vanessa Redgrave and Meryl Streep are two others still in demand. Although, Vanessa tends to perform basically the same character in different stories and different costumes.
A male equivalent to that ‘same character’ habit is Samuel Jackson. His grand specialty is playing the gutter mouthed Ghetto Hood. It’s made him rich.
Screw HBO. They retroactively destroyed Game of Thrones 8 season of gripping drama and wonder in 3 episodes. I subscribed to HBO for 5 years after I discovered Game of Thrones and in the final season it was like they took a pet that they fed and loved and cared for and eviscerated it right in front of the people who loved it.
Amazon Prime has a Russian series called “Ekaterina”. The actress is stunningly beautiful. It’s a pretty good show too.
Skip this hysterical bilge with the old/feminist role model that .... wasn’t, in fact like the character presented.
She was much chunkier, and ran through the palace guard, paying them with favors. Nothing Cleopatra didn’t do, even to two Roman officers in major power. So there’s that.
Recommend instead “The Death of Stalin”- a black comedy that is simply brilliant, and is banned in current Russia, Kazahkstan, and Uzbekistan.
And for a coda: “Red Monarch” an even more tragic comedy of the Great Terror from the Moscow perspective. Beria played by David Suchet.
How did such a huge country, become communist. Answer- they had globalist banker help, all in the US btw— which is another library of information to support this, without question. And, the direction of WWI Kaiser Wilhelm and the German govt. backing Lenin— with bullion, and soldiers.
Her best part was in ‘Cal’
Wanna see this.
Helen Mirren is a MARVELOUS actress, cf. The Queen, her portrayal of QEII in the aftermath of Diana’s death.
And no, I DGAF about Mirren’s politics.
I love women. I really love independent, strong women.
I am tired of every form of entertainment being the strong woman forced down my throat. Everything has been feminized.
Young women can be inspired by strong successful people.
I cannot wait until this pendulum swings backwards.
True or not ? Ask the Volga Deutch.
I think Helen Mirren (originally Mironoff) is more Russian than Catherine the Great was!

Should be good. Catherine was fascinating, and Helen Mirren is one of the greatest of the era.
