Tonight during his rally, President Trump REPEATEDLY took the name of the lord in VAIN...!!!
Do you take your mothers name in vain Mr. President??? I tell you YOU DO NOT!!!! But tonight you DARE to take the Lord Gods name in vain!!! Do not be deceived....GOD is NOT mocked!!! Please, STOP it !
Deuteronomy 5:10-11 “But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. “You must not misuse the name of the LORD your God. The LORD will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.”
Exodus 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.”
Matthew 6:9 “Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”
This is a warning to all who think God will 'overlook' the act of blaspheming His name. HE WILL NOT. I will not matter if you are a street sweeper or the leader of the greatest Republic on earth......GOD will drop you like a stone.

I disagree.....Christians understand we are all ‘in a process’ of sanctification... others are ‘on their way’ to Salvation as God draws them to Himself. Both are the works of the Holy Spirit in ‘how and when’ He operates in an individuals life.
The problem is Christians are too quick to forget their own sins and where God found them.....which goes hand in hand then with being far to judgmental about the condition of others.

Quite a bit of discussion on what taking the Lords name in vain really means. More than a few people support David. But most Freepers, unfortunately have taken the usual route to curse, insult and belittle him and others who agree with him. And then there are those like you and central who lash out at people like me who are just here observing the complete absurdities of this entire thread.

Yup. While I disapprove of Trumps language, I understand the sentiment, since I'm guilty as well. I suspect most of us are. We need to keep focused on goals rather that niceties right now.

I feel sorry for you - there is so much you misunderstand.
And furthermore, your characterization makes God out to be thin-skinned, petty and vindictive. It makes no sense at all that the all-powerful creator of the universe would care about something so inconsequential.
I have met doctors who get all upset if you don’t call them “doctor”, and there was a certain congress woman who made a big deal about her title.
