EXCLUSIVE -- Scherie Murray, a New York businesswoman who immigrated from Jamaica as a child and is active in state Republican politics, is launching a campaign Wednesday for the congressional seat held by Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Fox News has learned.
In a phone interview, Murray, 38, confirmed her intention to run for the New York congressional seat as a Republican.
“There is a crisis in Queens, and it’s called AOC,” Murray told Fox News. “And instead of focusing on us, she’s focusing on being famous. Mainly rolling back progress and authoring the job-killing Green New Deal and killing the Amazon New York deal.”

I hope Murray harps on the fact that AOC prohibited thousands of New Yorkers from getting jobs with Amazon.
At first when I saw the headline, I thought she was buying a new MOPAR...

She says Cortez is concentrating on becoming famous and pushing to new red deal. This is true, but will the voters think that is all bad? Rat voters like celebrities, and Cortez is a news celeb. And like Pelosi said, they could run a glass of water with a D on it and it would get elected.

She should run as a Democrat (DINO - Democrat in name only). There is no way that district will vote for a Republican, even if they are Black and female.

Boss Tweed was strutting around the Garment District the last time a Republican won this district, but I’m sure she’ll raise money. That’s what Republican political campaigns do in NYC.

The only thing that could bring her down in that district is the Amazon debacle. But, most likely, if needed she could make a gentrification case against what would happen if Amazon were there (i.e., long-time residents being driven out of their apartments by sky rocketing rents), so that won’t even dent her.
Face it, we’re stuck with her. But thankfully, Trump isn’t letting the Democrat Party or the media keep her hidden - she is the IN YOUR FACE of the party now, and I love it!
Because of Democrat identity politics, only another Hispanic will be able to defeat her. A Black from Jamaica, especially a Republican, doesn't have a chance.
The only hope is that if the Democrats are being crushed next year, there will be low turnout. And in that case, it's whoever has the best organization to get people out to vote.

not gonna happen. She needs to go out in the June primary. Presidential Democratic at top of ticket GOP will not win. Waste of $$$$$.

I had the same thought that maybe she got a new Hellcat to get out of town quickly when the people with the tar & feathers come after her.
Not that long ago (but still too long) ! Part of the western Queens (then NY-6) portion sent one as recently as 1947-49 and upper central Queens briefly from 1952-53 (then NY-5). The Bronx portion of the district sent Republican Paul Fino until 1969 (then NY-24).
