Christian women can’t find good men to marry: ‘There just aren’t any’
Life Site News ^ | May 2, 2019 | Anna Hitchings

May 2, 2019 (The Catholic Weekly) – We are living in a unique time in history. Never has politics been so polarised, never has mainstream society come so near to amorality (although Nero’s Rome came close), and never has it been so difficult for a woman to find a good man.

The latter is, I’ll admit, a bold claim but allow me to elaborate.

We constantly bemoan the state of society, the youth, universities, the media, et al, which seem to be collectively falling into ever deeper rabbit holes of noxious regressive ideas, behaviours and policies.

Religious affiliation and church attendance, especially among youth and men in particular, has never been lower. Pornography addiction is a scourge of epidemic proportions among men and even boys as young as 11. Put simply, the world is in a mess.

You’ve heard it all before.

Yet one important side-effect of all this that gets little attention is how tough this new environment has become for women, especially Christian women, to find good husbands. The situation is so dire there is now an emerging trend of women abandoning their faith and religious beliefs for the sake of romantic relationships.

Perhaps this is not considered a particularly serious issue when compared with Brexit, abortion on demand or the erosion of free speech, but I would contend it is every bit as important, if not more so. The future of our society depends on good, solid marriages, families and citizens. We need families to produce educated and informed young men and women who will continue fighting the good fight on all the issues confronting our society.

Yet for someone like me – a 32-year-old single Catholic – the situation looks bleak indeed.

Technology changed everything.

Think about the world your grandparents lived in. They pretty much were born, and spent most of their lives in the same place. Pickings were slim, you basically had to find someone good enough, before they were taken by somebody else, and get married. So even if they weren’t their “soulmate”, they probably realized their mate was going to be as good as they could get, and they made it work.

Now, thanks to mobility, and the Internet, people think there are plenty of fish in the sea, and can hold out for “perfect”. Then the day comes, and they realize that “perfect” ain’t there, and they’re stuck.

From the original article: "A man in want of basic social awareness is a major turnoff for young women.". Article's photo below:

If he is acting like that, he's decided you aren't worth the cost of a salad! Or maybe you should look for someone who prefers MEAT! As the saying goes, "I love vegetarians. That is all I eat!"

But I suspect it has more to do with wanting Mr Perfect to adore Miss Perfect. And yeah, that will be a long wait.

You can't have me. I'm already married. And waiting until 32 may have been a mistake...

yeah.

I had to search long and hard to find a Godly woman, who understood what it meant to be ‘equally yoked’ to a guy not born rich nor handsome, and I’ve seen many a friend spurned because they weren’t buff or rich enough.

The idiot who wrote this article is a piece of work fit to rank with the nastiest femninazi.

32? What has she been doing since she was 18? She spent the best part of her life (that part while young and fertile) doing something other than looking for a good man.

She gave her good years to someone else or something else.

And now, she wants to find some man who spend his years from 18-32 building a life, building his finances, and and have him share that with her on a 50/50 basis.

Delusional.

I’d have an oozing steak and scotch rocks, with my eyes dead on her.

Ah, yes, date musicians and other “bad boys” all through their 20s, then they decide in their 30s that they want a nice, stable man for a husband.

A few points:

(1) This young woman is Australian (not American).

(2) If she’s looking for a husband who’s single, churchgoing, and not too awkward, she’s isn’t looking for “perfection.”

(3) She didn’t wait until now at age 32. She’s just writing the article at 32.

IMHO, she should stop looking for marriage. It seems many people who desperately want to marry never do. Meanwhile, those of us who envisioned a life filled with adventure, a successful career, and world travel ended up married homeschool moms.

I suggest she drop the churchgoing requirement and date someone “single” and “not too awkward” who respects her moral values. If they marry, maybe he’ll convert, or maybe he’ll sit in the pew with her on Sundays.

The ones who are “perfect” (yeah, no such thing, but stipulate meeting every requirement) are holding out for someone who *THEY* find perfect. The guy who meets all of her criteria is going to have a wide, wide range of potential mates.

By the time a girl reaches twenty it is anyone’s guess how many pigs she has slept with, better not over sixteen.

Catholic Girls Start Much Too Late.

Good for them. They'll have fewer diseases, fewer children out of wedlock, fewer abortions, and a lot less 'baggage'.

Billy Joel was a slimeball when he wrote that song.

Maybe. But if you do her wrong - she’ll cut you from ear to ear.

1) Don't do her wrong.

2) Make sure she knows that if she does you wrong, she sleeps with the fishes ...

No, preferably mid 20s.

They need the maturity, including as individuals who can cut it on their own. They definitely need full maturity for children.
