Steve Bannon set up Trump-Gabbard meeting

Donald Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon contacted Tulsi Gabbard to arrange Monday’s meeting with the president-elect...Many in the media raised their eyebrows when the news broke that Trump was meeting at Trump Tower Monday morning with Hawaii’s Democratic congresswoman.

But for those who know Bannon best, there was no surprise at all.

Bannon, who hates the entrenched two-party system, has long admired Gabbard. She’s an Iraq War veteran with an independent streak. Bannon, a navy veteran, was drawn to her when she began publicly excoriating the Obama administration over its plan to defeat ISIS.

“He loves Tulsi Gabbard. Loves her,” a second source familiar with Bannon’s thinking told The Hill. “Wants to work with her on everything.”

Bannon appreciates Gabbard’s willingness to publicly criticize President Obama for refusing to name the enemy, “radical Islamic terrorism.”

“For him it’s a win-win when a Democrat is saying those things..."

It appears that Bannon’s view of Gabbard as an ally was shared by the Breitbart team.

A search of "Gabbard" in the Breitbart News archive turns up five pages of archived stories, many of them reported over the past year.

The stories highlight Gabbard’s criticism of the Obama administration over its plans to defeat ISIS, including the president’s convening of a White House summit on violent extremism, an event Gabbard described on Fox News as a “diversion from what our real focus needs to be.”

Other Breitbart stories on Gabbard note her full-throated support for Israel, her support for the Kurds and her backing of a bill that would make it all but impossible to admit Syrian refugees into the U.S.

Wonder what Mr. Bannon thinks now that she called the President “Saudi Arabia’s B!tch” in public?

What would Mr. Bannon say about her ‘independence’ now that she renounced the teachings of her parents and Hindu religion about sexual perversion, and publicly payed homage to the lgbtq community?

I would be very surprised if this President gives her the time of day anymore.

A common criticism is that she changes her views however the wind blows...from social issues to Israel.

Her foreign policy instincts are solid and clearly anti-Swamp.

She was raised in a conservative home and between that and her military experience, some of the good stuff stuck. But it’s only 10-20% of what she says and votes. Unless that ratio changes dramatically she’s still a creature of the left.

Lurch was military too.

So was the bloated turd (Murtha).

Military doesn’t make a person conservative.

Nor is service a carte blanche for politics.

She’s a creature of the left. If she wasn’t vetted and approved as a fully owned and operated creature of the left, she’d never have gotten the money to run as a dem.

it’s just that simple.

Semper Fi.

I wonder if she’s being considered for the U.S. Secretary of Defense post.

Mohammed Bin Salmon told Trump that he would like to have Tulsi as his bitch but just for a short time.

THAT’s what I was thinking. Tulsi may be one more chameleon, more dangerous than a Romney RINO, certainly. Anyone hanging “Democrat” on their badge as their political affiliation is not fighting for the best traditions of the USA, but for concepts foreign to America and the Constitution.

She’s made a few interesting criticisms of Obama and of some other Democrat strategies, but given the Leftist cliff we’re hanging over, anyone else but Trump in the driver’s seat means we’re finished, short of a civil war.

Conservatives, evidently, will have to be out of jobs before they will meet force with force. You know... how so many always say “We are entirely too busy with working and family to behave like these stupid Marxists in the streets. “ ( sniff, sniff.)

Huh?

Tulsi the Solid reportedly just said Trump should swallow his pride and get back into the IRAN deal. Gasp.

When Gabbard entered politics, she was only twenty-one, and in those early years she was a social conservative, pro-life and active in the fight against same-sex marriage. She is now pro-choice and pro-same-sex-marriage: on these and other issues, she has evolved enough to be almost—but not quite—at home in the contemporary Democratic Party, which is increasingly progressive, particularly on issues of gender and sexual orientation. The exact nature and extent of Gabbard’s political evolution is not easy to apprehend...

I wasn’t aware of that but she isn’t a warmongering neocon, so there’s hope.

An interesting side topic regarding Tulsi Gabbard:

Tulsi Gabbard Says a Teen Hacked a Replica of Florida's Election System. She's Wrong

“There’s a hacking conference that’s held every year in Las Vegas where I think a 14 or 15-year old-girl from Florida hacked into a replica of Florida’s election system in less than 15 minutes,” she said.

This talking point gets people's attention about election security, but it's also factually wrong. A teenager did not hack a replica of Florida's election system.

Gabbard was talking about the Def Con hacking conference, and specifically about an event held last year: a hacking competition for young hackers where organizers set up look-alikes of election websites and asked the participants to hack them. Organizers gave participants “clones” of state election websites with vulnerabilities inserted by the organizers. In particular, the sites were designed to be vulnerable to SQL injection attacks, one of the most ancient—and yet still very common—hacks ever.

Moreover, in the real world, these election websites don’t actually tabulate votes. Hacking one of these websites on election day could theoretically cause some temporary confusion, but it will not change the results of an election. These were not the real elections systems deployed in Florida or anywhere else in the country. These were systems intentionally made more vulnerable in an attempt to help participants crack the competition. But this hasn’t stopped anyone from taking it too seriously, and misjudge the competition’s significance. Unfortunately several media outlets such as TIME magazine, ran with exaggerated and misleading headlines spreading disinformation that Gabbard is now helping spread even more.

To me, someone with the spoken views of Gabbard, no matter the other mitigating factors, is no different from a “peaceful” raghead. They are sitting on a hair trigger, and at any moment can revert to type and go all batcrap crazy on us. Not with a proverbial ten foot pole, after her outburst about Saudi Arabia. I don’t like the wahabs, either, but I don’t badmouth POTUS over it.
