The Daphne Police Department is looking for the person who robbed a Waffle House at gunpoint.
It happened around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday at 6781 Hwy 90.
Police say the suspect walked into the restaurant, and fired a shot into the ceiling.
The man is then accused of taking cash from the register, and car keys from a customer. He ran off after he wasn't able to take the car. Daphne Police tell Channel 3 the car was a push to start, and the suspect may not have known how to start it.
He wasn't found in a search of the surrounding area.
Daphne PD says video shows the man was dropped off at the Waffle House by an older model Chevrolet or GMC truck with distincitve markings. It is multi-colored, and does not have a rear bumper.
The suspect was described as:
Black male Slender Black clothing Red bandana covering face
Anyone with more information is asked to call the Daphne Police Department at (251) 620-0911.
This is right down the road from me. Surprising really because we usually don’t see this type of stuff on our side of the causeway. Crime like this usually stays on the other side in Mobile. I guess the nest is getting ready to move...

0200 covered and smothered works. Don’t have any near us. Or any Cracker Barrels. How come they haven’t been forced to close with a racis’ name like that?

When I see the “no carry here,” signs, I have one or a combination of these reactions: ignore it; take my business elsewhere; presume the business is run by fools; presume the business is run by liberals...which goes back to the previous reaction; presume they want to be robbed.
I've never seen a Waffle House with a rifle before.
I've seen an IHOP with a grenade launcher, but never a Waffle House with a rifle.
Everything old is new again. I remember on some old stick shift cars, you had to depress the clutch pedal, which pressed a button on the floor to start the engine.
Some people, I am told, buy sticks specifically because they are rarely stolen these days because crooks don't know how to drive them.
Apparently no IHOP or dollar stores near.
