INMO War of Will suffered more severe interference than he did in the Derby. I didn't realize this as I watched the race live, but viewing the NBC video as I can now I think Jockey Rosario riding the eventual winner, Sir Winston, anticipated an opening as much or more than Saez did with Maximum Security in the Derby.
Start watching the NBC Video at 2:28. There, War of Will is in the three path with Tacitus outside him in the four path. Sir Winston is just behind the leaders halfway between the one and two paths about even with War of Will and Tacitus. Moving forward Sir Winston moves outside and Tacitus comes in slamming War of Will sideways at the 2:32 mark.
So why wasn't there an objection? Sir Winston and War of Will have a common trainer and it might be that War of Will's jockey didn't want to do anything to cost Sir Winston the victory.
Why wasn't there a Steward's Inquiry? It was my opinion after the Derby that virtually no one would have been talking about the foul and potential danger to the horses if there had been no Inquiry there. That discussion about the dangers was not good for Horse Racing. And so here there was a foul again, but no Inquiry; and no one is talking about it. Did the NYRA/Belmont Stewards act in the best interests of Horse Racing?

(BTW, that's where the racing scenes in A Day At the Races were filmed.)
Wow.
Sounds like a fun day.
I’m a degenerate so I won’t walk away with anything :)
But if I could have a few laughs at 1/10 the cost of a casino, it sounds worth it
Thanks for the tips
When I was a kid, I was at a casino with some adults. I found a penny on the floor, and put it in a slot machine. Got two pennies out of it, and was thrilled. ( this was years and years ago, when a penny meant something to a kid) I put the two pennies in the slot machine, and lost them both. I was devastated! But that was the ending of my betting forever!!
WOW
LOL, I’d be the opposite way with my wife :)
Sounds like a good time.
Well out of about 8 responses, yours was by far the most boring lol, and useless :)
my life the past three years has been just as boring when it comes to gambling.
Just lost the desire.
Actually, it SUCKS. Used to love it.
Belmont is a beautiful racetrack as is Churchill downs. Great to visit though I don’t gamble.
(Maybe they did act in the best interests of horse racing and maybe that is ok... I love horse racing and I love healthy animals... Im not expert but I dont want racing shut down)
They are so much fun. At least Santa Anita is. I love going. Its beautiful and there is great lowbrow food and great good food for more $. They love my kids there too, the horses are gorgeous, and you can bet small amounts all day and have fun.
Thanks!
It sounds great. Thanks :)
And i’m as lowbrow as they get!! lol
Would have been a great time had the photo finish gone my way.
Santa Anita is my favorite of the Southern California tracks. And to be sure going for the races is fun. But you should go there for the morning workouts if you haven't already. Except for the cost of a simple breakfast, if you want one, everything is free.
I've been lucky enough to have had a couple of business trips to nearby Santa Anita. The first day I was out there I ate breakfast at my hotel. I never made that mistake again!

If you understand the form chart, you can win a couple of races.
I will do my research.
Actually looking forward to something new.

If nobody bets, they wouldn’t have any races.
Good grief! Churchill is a dump. Take a drive over to Lexington and visit Keeneland. They have a three week meet in April and another in October.

I meant as much or more than Gaffalione did with War of Will.

I was at Churchill in 1982 for the Derby. A client was in charge of Security and have me a tour of the paddocks before the race. It was so nice. I’m pretty sure it was 82. Casaleria, a one eyed horse was in the race.
horses dying every week this year at Santa Anita. 29 or so so far. Owner of track refuses to close the track. Owners keep horses there racing. State “recommends” they close. Now animal groups want more racing banned in CAL.
