NASA says theres a chance SpaceX can launch two astronauts aboard the companys Crew Dragon capsule by the end of the year if SpaceX can make fixes that caused a catastrophic test failure.
On April 20, the Crew Dragon slated for the in-flight abort test exploded on a test stand at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station an instant before a planned static firing of the capsules eight Super Draco abort engines. No one was injured, but the Demo 1 capsule was destroyed.
Kathy Lueders, manager of NASAs commercial crew program, said the capsule originally intended to carry the first astronauts will now be used for the in-flight abort test and another downstream capsule, originally planned for the first operational Crew Dragon flight to the ISS, will serve as the Demo 2 vehicle.

Sounds like a lot of duct tape
And this time, dont touch the Red button.
Reminds me.
The pilot who flew the 1st manned space shuttle launch was asked his thoughts just prior to launch.
He said, do you know how the federal gub mint works?
Some real smart guy or guys come up with a great idea.
Congress votes to fund said great idea.
Bids are opened and the project is awarded to the lowest bidder.
So we are about to get launched in to space aboard a million gallons of fuel on a craft built on the cheep.
Now that we have the U.S. Space Force ramping up, let’s get the show on the road! I’ve heard enough from Bridenstine and Musk...NASA TV, etc., especially the hosts of some of those shows with their ridiculous gesticulations as they speak, looking directly into the camera. It’s the dumbest thing NASA TV does, besides having so much of it being aimed at children. So enough with the happy horseshit, and those of you who already have careers over there should get on with the task at hand.
Probably a $10 part ?
For a current astronaut to climb into that calsule or future capsule is beyond me.
