Democrats will introduce legislation to mandate zero-emissions vehicles make up all new car sales by 2040. The bill is co-sponsored by three Democrats running for president in 2020 who support the Green New Deal. The internal combustion engine has long been a target for environmentalists.
Democrats will introduce legislation to completely phase out the use of gasoline-powered cars by mandating that only zero-emissions vehicles can be sold by 2040.
“When I take a lungful of air in this moment, it has 30 percent more carbon in it than when I was born,” Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley, the bill’s main sponsor told The Huffington Post on Wednesday. “That is a change that has never happened in a single generation of humankind on this planet.”

Exactly. If Trump agreed to give them every facet of the Green New Deal in exchange for a prohibition on abortion, gay marriage and government healthcare (all things they’d lose in a climate apocalypse anyway), they’d reject the deal without flinching.

This would destroy the petroleum industry, making gasoline and diesel rare and extremely expensive. Same for home heating oil.
Go power fire trucks, ambulances, tow trucks, ocean liners, planes with solar power. Try it. Won’t work.
Petroleum products contain a tremendous amount of energy, and cheap. The reason for its high price is taxes. Nothing comes close.

Of course it is! It is all about CONTROL!
Once the IC engine vehicles are done away with, they will eventually go after the E-vehicles. Why? They will suddenly DISCOVER how much energy and pollution is created to produce these vehicles. (Of course, all this will happen when technology has made the e-vehicles almost as easy to use as vehicles using IC engines.)
The next step would then be to make bicycles illegal. CONTROL the proles and don’t allow them ANY freedom. Fill their brains with garbage (ie: CBC, CTV, Global, NBC, CBS, ABC, HOLLYWIERD, etc.) to dumb them down. Get ‘em addicted to schlocky pablum and brainwash ‘em. THAT is the plan.

Nothing like "saving the planet" to get people to shift all their jobs into the Far East, where mine tailings and other pollutants don't add to the cost of manufacturing solar cells, all other electronics, and pretty much everything else. Oh, and electricity and heat for processing comes from burning coal.
