Don’t worry about why it was sold....Just accept it and realize that things were made RIGHT.
That’s all that matters.
Great story.... too bad it’s fiction.
No full names, no places named... just somewhere in Nebraska.
No even a date this action took place.
Fiction or the “journalist” in this article flunked Journalism 101
Great story!
At the least, ol’ David should get the names of all 200 other farmers, put in a nice 3 acre pond (if one doesn’t already exist), stock it well, make sure there are a few shade trees, and invite the others over to fish “anytime”!! :-)
I love the mid-west. Today, my chiropractor held a benefit for one of his workers. Her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The chiro was doing adjustments for a free-will donation, with a t-shirt thrown in at $30.
It was standing room only, and the raffle set up next door had 25 or 30 items from various local merchants. Everyone was good natured, despite long waits.
I love stories like this.
Buzzkill.
YES.....!!!!!
Wow.
Great story.
My daughter and her friend joined me in Puerto Rico a couple years ago and there was a farmers convention at our hotel at the same time. We had the best time . It was like being with a huge loving family. I love this story. God Bless our farmers.
Darn phone is misting up and can hardly type.
Warms the heart tremendously.
Thanks; I only went to the 360 site.
That makes it an even better story! They had a dream and made it come true - with a little help from their friends ;-)
Thank you! I meant to add the GNN link!
And they had a whole group of good people not sucking at once.
Saw this happen at an estate auction. The husband and his mistress were in jail for killing his wife. The state had an auction at the residence to liquidate assets. Finger print dust and blood stains were still apparent in the garage where the poor lady was ambushed. Children in pre and early grade school and apparently the wife’s kin could not claim anything from the property (personal items included).
Everything was up for bid. Word got around that there were some specific items (family heirloom type items) that the dead woman’s family wanted back, such as a few paintings the wife had painted, some jewelry handed down through her side of the family, and an antique bassinet, etc...
The relatives were sitting up front and when each item came up for bid, everyone waited to see if a family member raised their paddle. When they did, nobody else bid. It really was pitiful seeing some of the personal items that the state refused to allow the dead women’s family to take before the auction.
See link at Post #19 for a better version of events.
The 80 acres they bought back at auction were ‘willed’ to a distant relative who then sold it off. This young man wanted to buy back those 80 acres to make the Family Farm ‘whole’ again.
Yep! I need to post from them more often. Politics 24/7 gets TEDIOUS.
I mean, I LOVE IT as a Blood Sport and all, but it seriously effects my outlook on my Fellow Man, LOL!
THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME !!!
200 Farmers that did that, makes One wonder what could happen if those 200 Farmers REPLACED 200 USELESS bums in the U.S. House of Representatives...
That’s the Nebraska I grew up in...
See the link at Post #19 for more info. I meant to add that link!
I could not finish reading without tearing up.
Absolutely beautiful.
Heart warmin to know that there are still good and caring people on this planet.
God bless those farmers!
I understand that the auctioneering outfit makes a commission on the sale but...what kind of a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey $h!t auctioneer would halt the auction THREE times in order to garner a higher bid? Was he that stupid to not understand what was going on?
See the link at Post #19 for the original story. I meant to add that.
You may now return to your Nattering Neighbob of Negativity day! :)
