(If I had to do it over again Id make my wealth in land auctions. Its fun, its lucrative.)
The original website looks like a pretty good one, too:

ditto
Still a good story.
Creditors most likely. Now that they have purchased their land back, and it should be free and clear by the terms of the sale, they just need to make sure they don’t get back into the same boat and over extend themselves with new loans
THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED WITH MY GRANDFATHER.
Back in Dodge City, Kansas.
No one else bid.
They all knew.
Nebraska is a special place. I’ve never been to a football game where the crowd stands and applauds when the opposing team takes the field.
Damn farmers, probably trying to MAGA.
“Generations before David was born, eighty acres of their small family farm in Nebraska had been separated out and willed to a distant relative. Coming from a long line of farmers David heard this story over and over as a child, and it fueled a passion within him to make the farm whole again.”
Bad times can hit anybody, anytime. Everybody should know that.
If you spend you life being a good neighbor when the bad times come, you will have good neighbors.
Nice.
Yes. I grew up on a farm and there was so much camaraderie and sharing among the farmers. One farmer would borrow one type of farming equipment, the other another, etc.
Also, in the dairy world there was a tradition if there was something like a fire that did in one farmer’s barns and herd, the others from farms counties and even states away would offer up a heifer to help that farmer rebuild. I remember my father explaining that the standard was not to give your best or your worst, but a calf from a solid, middling producer. These were relatively small farms in New England and that was a substantial gift, but taken all together it could help some farmers get back on their feet.
Too many words, not enough story.
And the fact that these two wanted to be one of them.
That is such an awesome story. AMERICA!!!!!!
Too bad so many people will fail to recognize all the good in that story.
Damnit...
Stupid screen went blurry...
Gotta wipe this wet stuff out of my eyes...
Farmers KICK ASS!!
Bump!
