Rise and dine and give yourself time to digest before bed.
Thats the bottom line from a new study published Thursday in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, which found that people who skip breakfast and eat a late dinner have much worse health outcomes after surviving a heart attack.
In fact, people who did both of these (common) eating habits were four to five times more likely to die, have another heart attack or suffer chest pain within 30 days after leaving the hospital.
Our research shows that the two eating behaviors are independently linked with poorer outcomes after a heart attack, but having a cluster of bad habits will only make things worse, wrote study author Dr. Marcos Minicucci, of São Paulo State University in Brazil.
He also warned that People who work late may be particularly susceptible to having a late supper and then not being hungry in the morning.

If this is to be believed, all Spaniards should be dead.
I’m so screwed then
I eat once a day, and it’s usually after 8 PM
I don’t eat breakfast or lunch, and don’t usually have dinner till after 7:00 pm. I guess I am a dead man walking...
Most of them are.
Let me guess. Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
I should’ve died about 20 years ago.
(Pinching myself to make sure.... yup, I’m still alive)
I should be dead any day now then. I haven’t eaten breakfast in thirty years and eat dinner after 9.
It’s been fun, FRiends.
Didn’t we, recently have a post telling us that skipping breakfast was healthy for us?
Must be same folks working on Global Warming....
Cuz they're all gonna die.
Don't worry, in about three more weeks, there's bound to be another study telling us that skipping breakfast is good for us again.
I just had a complete check-up including a huge series of tests, stress EKG, MRI, blood tests and x-rays: No evidence of disease whatsoever.
And my mother, father, sister, grandmothers, and grandfather all died of early on-set arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
You only eat once a day? Where do live at, Venezuela?

“Didnt we, recently have a post telling us that skipping breakfast was healthy for us?”
That old tale that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”, allegedly was created by Kellogg’s several decades ago. If true, consider the source.
Sure, between 1:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon.
My daily routine...
Breakfast: Oatmeal w/cut-up strawberries, banana on the side, skim milk...and 2-3 cups of coffee
Lunch: Whey Protein drink (20oz) after fitness club workout w/30oz water
Dinner (no later than 5-6pm): Chicken breast grilled, mixed veggies w/water
Snack: Fiber One Fiber bar
Seems to be working OK so far...
There is a big trend to eating once a day, its called Intermittent Fasting. I’ve been doing it for 3 years and have no health issues at 72.
The breakfast foods people are having a fit because many people have ditched the gmo, highly sugared breakfast foods, yuck, I stopped eating cereal years ago. Most of my peer group eat breakfast cereal foods and most have high BP and Diabetes.
Just consider that an EXTREMELY early breakfast! :-)
blech!
I don’t see any bacon in that regimen
