I was thinking that we must have one of the oldest continuous forums on the net. Certainly with the most committed of members.
1956
Yes I just went to her thread
There was a link to the freeper photo thread, which was not accessible.
There have been some wonderful, intelligent, ethical and thoughtful people here over the years.
I have been fortunate to be here.
Sounds familiar... I, too, was born before Truman was elected and went door to door for Ike in 1956....
i am surprised at the ages, i thought the majority FR’s were 75 ish, because of their comments!
They make themselves sound doddering.
I am 62 and sometimes i feel like a kid around here.
If Gen X is considered to have been born between 1961 - 1981, I’m pretty close to being right in the middle of that. This October, I’ll have been on FR for 20 years.
1939
1953.
Interesting. Four of my (six) kids were born after 1994. I've assumed for years that they were Millenials because they were all born around the turning of the millenium (the year 2000).
So what is their generation's designation?
1946. I became a Freeper the morning Elian Gonzalez was kidnapped by Clintons thugs.
Born late 1977. I wandered the wastelands of liberalism for much of my teens to twenties but at age 28 started to wake up and veer right. When I take those “tests” online, I fall in the far right corner, lol.
I found FreeRepublic by accident back when I was going through my conservative conversion. I have been reading this site for more than 10 years. Upon joining back when the Trump train started I was immediately attacked about something I said and was shocked at the people trying to drive me off or have me banned. I still have no idea what they were so mad about. Fortunately Mr. Robinson did not ban me and I am glad to be here still.
When I joined I looked for an “introduce yourself” page but was unable to find one. My homepage tells a little about me but it’s nothing fancy. Best of luck to all.
Speaking of “cuspy”, my mother and I are opposite ends “cusp” of the baby boom. I think it’s hilarious that we’re (in some categorizations)of the same generation.
1937
Well look at what the original TV series of Star Trek and what they were using then compared to what we have today from that show; the flip phone communicator for one, and the body monitors in sickbay for two.
I am also July 1946.
They’re just a “little behind schedule”; still working on flying cars no one will buy.
And when President Lincoln appoint Ruth Badger Ginsberg to The Bench! ;)
“1967”
‘67 The year I returned from Nam.
Like Jack Benny my current age is always 39.
Your mom is seven years old? Are you your own Grandpa, too?
It’s still weird to me that we now have to wtrite four digits for the year in a lot of places.
