Disney bans smoking, oversized strollers, and loose ice in theme parks

Starting in May, the only smoke coming out of Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be from the fireworks.

Disney announced on Thursday that it is banning smoking, vaping, and stroller wagons in Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney water parks, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, effective May 1. There will be designated smoking areas outside of the entrances, and smoking visitors will be able to return to their park once they are finished, a Disney spokesperson told the Orlando Sentinel.

Dennis Speigel, president of International Theme Park Services, said it's "about time" smoking was banned at Disney parks. Because the company typically sets trends, he expects other theme parks will reconsider their own policies as well.

Under the new rules, strollers must be no larger than 31 inches wide and 52 inches long, and — effective immediately — visitors are no longer allowed to enter a park with loose ice in coolers. Instead, guests are asked to use reusable ice packs, or request ice from restaurants on property. Disney says guards won't have to dig around in ice at bag checks, getting people inside the parks faster.

Thinking the insurance industry can be found at the source of much today. I suppose we’d have to include the justice system as well.

Since they started celebrating Sodomite Day, I was finished with them. I wasn’t about to expose my children to their Disney promoted perversion.

Walt can’t say anything because a lifetime of smoking killed him at age 65.

I can’t stand smokers but am agreeing. Disney is mostly outside so why not just ban smoking from the rides and the lines.

Disney probably just finally got sick of babysitting emotional toddlers in adult bodies.

But they are wealthy emotional toddlers in adult bodies.

Is Disney going to still rent out those large Cinderella strollers? Hmmm...

Phew, got me worried there for a second. Just regular ice. I see I can still bring in my bag of loose dry ice cubes.

Some of us live out in the country to stay far away from the anti-smoking fanatics—spring is here, time to celebrate with cigars!

Will they still let you do like Arthur (played by Frank Costanza) did on King of Queens and rent a wheelchair and have Deacon push you to the front of every line?

Hey it's a private business on private property, they can do what they want, isn't that what we normally say here? It's obvious why they are banning oversized strollers, they take up space that a paying customer can be crammed into. They search people so that they can keep food and booze out that someone is raped for with in the park criminal prices, hence the loose ice ban also. And smoking? well that's just just good old control freak crap.

Ever since Walt died his dream has truly turned into the greediest place on Earth! Disney is actually the most anti family company on the planet, their programs and ideals forced on children thru their ABC and ESPN outlets promote disrespect, anti Americanism, fagotry, idiocy.......a far cry from the Disney of my youth.

But then Walt was a greedy SOB himself so maybe this is just natural evolution, at least Walt was less obvious, except with his employees that is.

This is about IEDs.

I’ve heard (from an Israeli friend that has consulted on security) of a number of dry runs by Muslims using giant strollers and coolers.

All seems pretty legit. Kinda surprised they hadn’t banned smoking already. Big strollers are a navigation hazard. And frankly they should just ban coolers, who cares how the ice is in there.
