Starting in May, the only smoke coming out of Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be from the fireworks.
Disney announced on Thursday that it is banning smoking, vaping, and stroller wagons in Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney water parks, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, effective May 1. There will be designated smoking areas outside of the entrances, and smoking visitors will be able to return to their park once they are finished, a Disney spokesperson told the Orlando Sentinel.
Dennis Speigel, president of International Theme Park Services, said it's "about time" smoking was banned at Disney parks. Because the company typically sets trends, he expects other theme parks will reconsider their own policies as well.
Under the new rules, strollers must be no larger than 31 inches wide and 52 inches long, and effective immediately visitors are no longer allowed to enter a park with loose ice in coolers. Instead, guests are asked to use reusable ice packs, or request ice from restaurants on property. Disney says guards won't have to dig around in ice at bag checks, getting people inside the parks faster.
All ice cubes on lanyards from now on.
How about just banning patrons?
They don’t have to worry about banning me.
A gun or knife or explosive could be hidden under that ice......................
Banning children next?
Public smoking has been almost entirely eliminated. It is now a habit partaken almost solely by the poor and in private.
Banning ice so the guards don’t have to dig thru ice when they search people coming in.
But nobody questions why Disney is searching customers in the first place.

I remember some years back, I bought a book of David Letterman’s Top Ten Lists as a Xmas gift for my brother and one of the lists was Top Ten Ways to get kicked out of Disneyland and, IIRC, the number one was “Bring Your Own Mouse Suit”.
They forgot to mention MAGA hats.
I’m not a smoker, but why can’t Disney have designated smoking areas inside the park? Why punish smokers forcing them to leave?
Wait. I think I just answered my own question.
Disney probably just finally got sick of babysitting emotional toddlers in adult bodies. A few bad apples can spoil the fun for everyone to paraphrase Otter.
Im not a smoker, but why cant Disney have designated smoking areas inside the park?”
I agree.
The liability for Disney is tremendous.
If someone sneaks a gun or bomb into one of their parks and kills visitors, not only would they be sued for millions, they would also lose millions more in revenue from people avoiding their parks. Yes, they search you going in.
As for the smoking...the anti-tobacco crowd is very vocal and lawsuit happy. Imagine some kid having an asthma attack after being exposed to someone smoking in the park.
This is all about limiting liability.
Don’t fool yourself, many wealthy people smoke in private.
So I really never have to ever go there?
