Former U.S. Sen. Harry Reid told a Nevada jury Thursday that his career was cut short by injuries he suffered when a TheraBand exercise device slipped from his hand and he fell in his home bathroom in 2015.
From a wheelchair on the witness stand in a product liability lawsuit against Ohio-based device maker Hygenic Corp., the 79-year-old longtime Democratic leader covered half his face with his hand to indicate the bones he said were “smashed” when he spun around and fell against cabinets in his bathroom.
Despite surgeries, he said he has irreparable retina damage and can only distinguish light from dark in one eye.
“I hurt myself really bad,” he said. “I spun around. I can’t tell you more specifically. I hit the counter.”
Reid is suing the TheraBand maker for unspecified monetary damages, claiming civil negligence and failure to warn the public the elastic physical resistance band was “unreasonably dangerous,” particularly for the elderly like him. He is due to resume testimony on Friday. …

what fool exercises in the bathroom? I would guess Harry has a big home with plenty of spacious rooms but he chose to exercise in the bathroom which is a room known for accidents to more often happen then say using an extra room without counters or cabinets in arms reach in case you fall or get out of control.
I see it as God was being merciful to Harry in taking him out of office by theraband rather than letting Harry continue on in his evil-mindedness in office. Harry choosing to be involved in suing the company is not a good move on Harry’s part. He’s still being greedy - evil and not taking ownership of fact he chose a poor place to do exercise and did not choose to either read direction for use or get educated on the product before choosing to use it.

Tape you described for taping muscles for support and healing is not the same as theraband exercise band which harry mentions in quote in article which is for exercising your muscles. two different things.

Which is why any physical therapist would recommend a person sit down when using these bands if the person is unstable on their feet. I have used these bands and have only had problems when using them incorrectly.
Ma, that tape is not an exercise device as article states, nor is it what Harry talk of using. He mentions resistant band for exercise not Tape to support muscles for healing.

OK so it’s the Red Rubberband like I have/use and My frail 90 year old Mother used after Rotator Cuff Surgery. She might have weighed in at 105-110 and stood about 4’8” tall and She survived it.

If Harry wins court case then numerous PT, Chiro, Gyms, etc etc may have to put up big signs about hazards of bands for exercise or may have to even discontinue using them! LOL
How much is the suit for?
Maybe we could set up a gofundme page to raise enough to smash the other side of his face. If he really needs money I’m quite confident he could raise a small fortune by offering to let someone smash his face again.
In fact, perhaps we could find out the monetary value of all of his comrades in Congress who need their heads smashed like his. If it could end their time in office, the value is incalculable.
