Caught-on-video subway “Granny-Kicker” says she had it coming

He’s not so tough now.

Cops have arrested the monster who they say repeatedly kicked a cowering elderly woman in the head aboard a Bronx subway train — as callous straphangers did nothing more than pull out their phones to record the beatdown.

But the suspect, restaurant worker Marc Gomez of Yonkers, is denying he kicked the woman — even as he insists she came at him with a knife.

Gomez 36, was charged with felony assault and ordered held in lieu of $30,000 bail after prosecutors said he has a misdemeanor conviction and an open gun possession in The Bronx.

A crowd of straphangers can be heard “ooo-ing” and “aww-ing” each time a kick connects, as if cheering at a boxing match. Another cellphone user, who appears to be only 10 feet away, veers in and out of the foreground of the clip as he angles his screen left and right to get a better view.

I’m guessing Phoenix still has Americans riding the trains, and cops are allowed to do their jobs there? Some subway lines in NYC have normals on them, others (depending on what areas they connect) are ghettos on wheels.

She was homeless and lying across the seat and wanted all other passengers to move,” Gomez’ court-appointed lawyer claimed of the 78-year-old victim during an early Sunday Bronx Criminal Court arraignment.

“She said, at that point, ‘I have a knife and I’m going to stab you,’” and flashed “a sharp instrument,” the lawyer, Steven Mechanic, claimed.

Earlier Saturday, a former neighbor of the victim had told The Post the elderly woman was mentally ill — and had threatened residents in the past with a knife.

Actually, most of the people can be seen running for the exits. And the perp is absolutely HUGE. I couldn’t find the video (although I saw it yesterday). What’s up there is the video of the perp being led out of a building and being put in a police car.

Back in the day when I used to use the subway, whenever there was a homeless person laying across the seats... one usually left them alone... and stood far away from them.

If she was flashing a knife, it was most probably for her own protection. May not mean she meant to use it. Dude belongs in jail.
