I just learned this, and I was quite surprised. Chile's area is over 290,000 square miles; Ukraine, the largest country in Europe other than European Russia, has an area of under 235,000 square miles.

A little secret that not many know is how beautiful the country of Chile is. Some of it is as beautiful as the Alps at 1/4 the price. Also it has the same weather as California, low humidity and nice winters..

Forget about Chile.

At 268,000 square miles, TEXAS is larger that any European country other than Russia.

Chile is a pretty neat place, and I believe has a considerable number of American expats. But few countries have less percent of productive or usable land, which makes its agricultural output even more remarkable.

I flew into La Serena Chile one time and it was like Southern California coast without all the people.

Texas? Ah! The 3rd largest state, after they split Alaska in half!

I knew I’d heard of it!

"Let's put the long-horned anti-Leninists of Texas in their place! So long, Lone Star State! You look like a tiny star set against the vast colossal sky of Mother Russia!"
