A little secret that not many know is how beautiful the country of Chile is. Some of it is as beautiful as the Alps at 1/4 the price. Also it has the same weather as California, low humidity and nice winters..

Forget about Chile.

At 268,000 square miles, TEXAS is larger that any European country other than Russia.

Chile is a pretty neat place, and I believe has a considerable number of American expats. But few countries have less percent of productive or usable land, which makes its agricultural output even more remarkable.

I flew into La Serena Chile one time and it was like Southern California coast without all the people.

My hedge against global warming. I figure I can always go to Santiago, where it’s always Chile.....

For an American used to Mexican spanish the Chilean spanish takes some getting used to. They sound like they truncate the ends of some words.

Since my wife and I only speak a very basic spanish most people there assumed we were Brazilian. Once to take a picture I turned my baseball hat on backwards so I had room for the camera - that was the only time someone thought we were Americans.

Yeah, but most of it is on a slant. :)
210 mile wide and two mountain ranges.
