At 663,268 square miles, ALASKA is way more than twice the size of Texas and much larger than than any European country other than Russia. Cut it in half and Texas becomes the third largest state.

You also know that Canada has four provinces and two territories that are larger than Texas, don't you?
Area of Canadian Provinces and Territories.
Yet the population for this vast land is pretty much the same as California, with most residents within 150 miles of the US border.
