Not long ago, I wrote about the most overrated hits songs of all time. I love compiling lists like those because they allow me to get in touch with my snarky side as well as rant a little. In that post four months ago, I mused about doing a list of overrated artists. Well, the time has come.
Here are the ten most overrated musical artists of all time. Dont get me wrong: I like some of the music by some of these artists, and though there are only a few bands and solo performers I completely despise, youll find that I dont hold back on how little I care for many of the folks on this list.
Believe me, Im aware that Im going to ruffle some feathers with this list. Im fine with that, because taste in music is always subjective. But as you read the list, keep an open mind and see if you agree with me. And even if you dont, just have fun reading it

Boston . . . all their songs sounded alike
My brothers GarageBand used to play dead flowers. The stones succeeded in transcending genres like no one ever even attempted
A British band nailing blue grass
Mick Jones on moonlight mile. Overrated. Pshawa
Eddy Money
I’ll see your Elvis and raise you: Sinatra.
Maroon 5 is awful. I speed-listened-skimmed an hour+ of their songs before the Super Bowl. All sounded the same. All boring and with nothing that grabbed me. Just blah.
"Freebird" pales in comparison to the band's greatest hit of all time:
Great song filled with a lot of history and subtle meanings for the band. "Tuesday" isn't a woman after all ... it was Ronnie Van Zant's allegory for the life of a normal person that he knew would disappear when the band signed their first big record deal.
No, that’s Joplin.
I agree.
KISS
Never saw the appeal of him.
Curtis Lowe was my favorite Skynnard
Millennials.
His real name is Edward Mahoney. He was born in New York City and was actually an NYPD recruit (he came from three generations of NYC cops) in the police academy for a while before his music career took off.
I hear you on Sinatra. The only reason Sinatra became famous is because some Mob bosses liked him.
That’s a good tune ... and tells a great story!
Steve Miller
BruceSpringsteen, John Couger Mellonhead, U2
GMTA
Hear, hear! Tripe wrapped in mediocrity wrapped in hysteria.
I agree with 2, Green Day & Bruce Springsteen. Don’t really know Georgia Florida Line as a band.
I agree. I change the station anytime the Beatles are played.
