Worrying about who gets Oscar nominations is about the last thing on my mind.
A 50 year career? Never heard of him.
And playing in another remake of a Hollywood remake?
Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
“In more recent years, such noted actors as Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall, Tom Selleck (another past member of the NRA), Sam Elliot and Kevin Sorbo have continued the rightward tendencies present among actors who act in Westerns.”

I am no homo, but damn...his voice is something I would love to try out for one night in a bar full of ladies..
Oscar? He’s played the same character in every movie he’s ever been in.
I’ve always like watching Sam Elliot in movies. It’s gotten to where the filmmakers can probably read a scripts and say “Oh, that’s a Sam Elliot part”. However, I don’t think his performances are necessarily Oscar-caliber.
He played General Ross in 2003’s Hulk. A very under-rated movie. Elliott was perfect in the part.
"Ladies and gentlemen.....Wade Garrett"
He also plays the lead paternal role in the NetFlix show “The Ranch” which skirted controversy last year by writing off the character “Rooster” played by Danny Masterson because of the “Me Too” idiots claiming Masterson was sexually inappropriate with a woman completely unrelated to the show.
That said, he plays every bit a cowboy in “The Ranch” as well and is honestly the only character worth continuing to watch the show after Masterson was written off.
I always liked him.
Wonder what he thought of working with Cher when filming Mask.

Won’t spoil his big day by mentioning Road House
“Gentlemen, prepare to defend yourselves.”
I was working in a married couples house a few years ago and a granite countertop salesman came in who looked exactly like Sam Elliott. The wife absolutely embarrassed herself, in a funny way, gushing over how handsome she thought the man was and how he reminded her of Sam Elliott. It was hilarious. The husband probably wanted to go hide in a closet.
For those of you with a soft side, Elliot play a great role in the Christmas movie Prancer also.
Sam was excellent in “Lifeguard” way back in the 70s. There are young women in my family who melt when he comes on the screen.
Here he is as Travis McGee.
I am sure everyone here will be happy to hear that Sam Elliott is staring in a brand new film. It is called, “The man who killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot”. Here is the trailer:
Love Sam. Hope, hope, HOPE he wins.
