Phillips described what he felt was hatred coming from the young people in the crowd, who are pupils at Covington Catholic School in Kentucky and who had traveled to the nation's capital to attend the March for Life rally, also held Friday. The interview was conducted Saturday after the video went viral. Since the interview, the diocese in charge of the school has denounced the students' actions, a lawmaker has defended them and the boy in the video, Nick Sandmann, has denied characterizations of his and his classmates' behavior and said he was simply standing in front of Phillips to let him know he wouldn't be baited into an altercation.

Yes other than advisers to the Viet Marines. However in72 during the Easter Offensive a Marine air unit (F-7’s I think, was sent to the RVN and they had supporting units and a infantry security unit. When the NVA was about to enter Saigon in April ‘75 Marine infantry were sent to cover evacuation of US nationals . I think that was Operation Eagle Pull. Then Marines were used in the ferocious little war with the Khmer on Koh Tang Island. Basically it would be unlikely this guy was there. He isn't forthcoming with his bona fides which anyone who has real combat time will tell you directly when and where they were.
Being a “Vietnam Era Vet” who honorably, actively served stateside in 1968 and 1969 I take the tone of your post as an insult to those of us who served during that period but did not get assigned to Vietnam. The term is entirely accurate and an entirely proper way to describe those of us who served during that era, often at substantial personal sacrifice, but did not serve in Vietnam.

Nathan, the instigator, knew exactly what he was doing.
Appeared each one of his indian fans had cameras filming the whole thing. They each was visibly eager with their cameras held high to get the best angles. One of his accomplices, who had a red hat on, unsure what the emblem was insulting and trying to argue with one of the school boys.
Nathan Phillips (the indian instigator who beat the drum inches from the boys face on purpose) and his group went up to the boys intentionally. The video confirms it.
Nathan Phillips has history of doing this before. He was fishing for victimhood footage. It is his bread and butter!!! He makes money off of it. It is his scam.
He is just doubling down. There is unedited footage of this entire thing, and he clearly walked over to them, they didn’t go to him.

And why would you call a Marine an “infantryman.” The corps is not infantry. He could have been a grunt but infantryman is not accurate.

My info is he was born in 1955. That would make him 16 in ‘71, 17 in ‘72. He could possibly have joined the Marines in 73 at 18 years old,. but could not have been combat-trained until ‘74. The Marines were in the process of pulling out in ‘74 and South Vietnam fell to Ho Chi Min in mid ‘75. There’s not much there there for Mr. Phillips.
You’ll have a hard time finding an MOS for “grunt” (0311). Every Marine is trained for infantry service and then sent to do whatever job needs doing. Air Wing, artillery, infantry, Admin., Supply... Force Recon was a specialized group chosen from the infantry and trained for their role. The Marine Raiders of WW II under the command of Carlson and Edson were deactivated and spread throughout the six Marine Divisions to train the newbies. Those units were no longer in existence at the end of the war.

Propaganda piece designed to encourage racial division activism through unwarranted aggressive confrontation promoted through CNN’s Sara Sidner attempting to rationalize defense of such activity.
The old man walked right into the middle of a bunch of kids. He got right up into that one kid’s face beating his drum. Getting that close and beating a drum in their face is not polite-it’s rude to say the least.
The old guy could have easily stepped around the kid, but it was clear that he wanted to assert himself. Maybe he was hoping to provoke the kid, but the kid was too smart for that, and assertive enough to not submit by stepping aside. Kid was also smart enough not to push the old guy aside.
In addition the guys with the old guy were extra rude and crude and harassing.
