I’ve only tried a small amount of that once. Less than a teaspoon.

But it seems some are pretty much addicted to it.

I found little jars on sale for 50 cents and bought 6 for the prepper supply. But the shelf-life is rather short. Seems like only a few months. I think.

It is prepper or survival food. You might be better off buying some tinned meat and 50 pound sacks of rice or making up vacuum packed containers of noodles, evaporated milk, freeze dried cheese and vegetable soy protein.

But anything to get people better prepared for an emergency.

I hate mac & cheese too-If the cheese is real, then it is the only source of protein and other nutrients-the pasta is just empty carbs and calories...

And I hate hot Tuna anything-Tuna is supposed to be served cold-as in Tuna salad...

I read the article, and to the other poster’s credit, I recall those cheese packs being enclosed in paper, which then may or may not be exposed to higher levels of humidity after opening the tub.

Sure, they’re lined with something protective, but I would think the paper packets would begin to deteriorate faster after the tub has been opened than beforehand.

Just my worthless opinion....

Anyone else see Mac&Cheese eateries or food trucks lately?

Must be the highest profit margin behind popcorn.

Is that why all the tuna “steaks” I see prepared in videos and TV shows look tartare?

[ But anything to get people better prepared for an emergency. ]

I agree. Some preparation rather than none.

BTW, 20lb bags of white rice at WM are around $9. Seems to be the best deal I’ve found so far. Is it great rice? No, but it is Great Value rice (lol - their brand name).

BUT remember this rice takes 2 cups of water for every 1 cup of dry rice. This is not Uncle Ben’s (which is better but much more expensive per pound).

It’s mac. It’s cheese. It’s a big ol’ size. It’s at Costco.

Might as well just purchase bulk boxes, transfer noodles and cheese packet to a ziplock bag, and fill a 5 gal food grade bucket with them. Save one cooking directions for the lid. That keeps it all in easy to use portions.
