There’s also the injury possibility. What we have here is a wild mob attacking one person. Had a McDonald’s employee intervened, the mob might have scattered. But then again, it could have then been a mob attacking two people.
A guy I know tried to break up a similar fight about 20 years ago. He still has back pain every single day.
It would have been great had a hero stepped in, John Wayne style. But I really don’t hold it against anyone who didn’t.
I just hope every last employee was on the phone, dialing 911. And someone screaming “The cops are coming!” would have helped too.

Especially the part that this occurred in the
Upper West Side of NYC ...
There are black people in the Upper West Side (statistically 7.6% is black). It is wrong to blame someone based on their race, especially when there is not evidence to that assertion.
I noticed the names (Joselin Santos, 16, and Annie Figueros, 33) of the two women arrested, and I thought they were Hispanic surnames. No photos of them were available. I was uncomfortable that they ended up with no criminal records, and their cases are sealed in that I doubt all racially motivated attacks in NYC are treated with equal gravity.

Maybe people thought it was Performance Art.
I thought the Second Act was a little slow.

“But they ended up with no criminal records, and their cases are sealed”.
Does that mean that ICE can’t find out where they live?
To: AlaskaErik
Look at the perp's last names Probably Puerto Rican. Which means an ample dose of African blood.

Two women, Joselin Santos, 16, and Annie Figueros, 33, were charged with assault and harassment in the case. But they ended up with no criminal records, and their cases are sealed.
IOW, they're illegals, and being given sanctuary by A.K.A. DeBlasio.

The employees are under no obligation whatsoever to risk their lives for a patron. She has no case.

IOW, they're illegals, ...
What they did (assault) was illegal, yet there is o evidence in the posted link that they entered the USA illegally.

While one of the perps was in her teens, the other one was not, so it's a perfectly reasonable inference.

For 7.25 an hour, you better believe theyre not going to get involved.
Now, 15 bucks, maybe...
NYC minimum wage is $13/hr. That should be good for a shrug, at least.

Another good reason to avoid McDonalds.
Lousy food is the best and first reason to stay away. Now they’ve added perks like getting mugged.

Why should the employees be any more obligated to risk life and limb by getting involved in a mêlée than the customers?
