I went into Walmart the other day and was at a 20 item checkout. It was taking forever as a woman up front had coupons or something. Anyway a cashier came over and said she could help me at the self-services. She rang it all up and I said I will be paying with a check. She said these won’t take checks. I said “WHAT” they used to. None of the new machines will let you use a check. I don’t use the self serve as they drive me nuts, and I know for sure I won’t now as I don’t use a debit card and try not to use a credit card.
Fried grits? How do you make that?
My hubbies all time FAVORITE!!!!!
He’s still raving about a BBQ restaurant we went to in UT where he got the biggest bowl of Fried Okra with his ribs.
I like steak cooked many different ways. Chicken fried is one of them.
That’s also my favorite recipe for venison.

This is your heads up!
DUTCHSINSE earthquake forecaster showed satellite views of plumes of fire that broke out spontaneously in earthquake faults. All the existing fires had recent earthquakes in the vicinity. Could be methane coming up through the ground.
He gives 10 p.m. CST daily updates. Very interesting. USGA nd YouTube has tried to silence him.

Price we pay for living in Heaven. LOL
its a modification of a recipe I got from somewhere.. maybe Pioneer woman?
can use or omit the fire (jalapeños) or use milder banana peppers
I have also experimented with adding some brown sugar.. 1/4 cup. Adds interest.
Ive also played with adding a package of cream cheese
Can use two packages of the dry mix if you like a “cakier” texture
do NOT use low fat anything.. butter and real sour cream!
: 8 servings
Ingredients
* 1 (11-ounce) can corn, drained well(I use paster towels)
* 1 (14.75-ounce) can creamed corn
* 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
* 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
* 1 small onion, finely chopped
* 1-2 jalapenos, finely chopped or bottled banana peppers, drained and paper towel dried. Can omit the peppers completely OR add 1/4 C mixed color sweet peppers
*1 T minced garlic
* 1/2 teaspoon paprika
*1 teaspoon sea salt
* 2 tablespoons butter, melted
* 1 (7.5-oz) package corn muffin mix, Jiffy or Martha White
* 2 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish. (or you can use a smaller one but you will have to cook it longer.)
2. In a large bowl stir together corn, sour cream, and eggs.
3. Mix in onion, jalapenos, garlic powder, paprika, salt, melted butter, corn muffin mix, and 1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese.
4. Pour into prepared casserole dish.
5. Bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top and continue to cook until set in the middle, about 15 to 20 more minutes. It is done when there is only a slight jiggle in the middle when you shake the dish.
Oh, I know. My daughter actually worked for the government in California doing environmental studies and inspections where the electric company wanted to expand and improve. She got fed up with the idiocy of it all and went to work for a construction company, shielding them from the stupid environmental wackos.
She also worked for the government regulators on fishing, going out for weeks at a time on fishing boats. She found out how stupid those regulations are too. Now she just teaches science in high school.
California will always blame the private companies, always.
Whos going to challenge Trump in 2020? Here are 17 super-early contenders
Wish you could crate it up and send it here.
I remember that. We were supposed to have flying cars too.
Yeah, that chicken fried steak looks perfect. Nice crunchy breading and a nice white gravy.
Okay, I’m coming through San Angelo at some point :-) next time I drive from here to California.
I don’t feel like cooking all the time, so eat frozen food sometimes. Marie Callenders has some good ones, including country fried steak.
Most of the Mexican restaurants here even serve it.
Sounds like she had a similarly frustrating job as my husband did. He was the environmental manager at that power plant. So his job was to make sure that they complied with all the regulations and didn’t get fined too much. On the other hand, the power plant needed to be profitable and he had to find a reasonable way to accommodate those regulations. Needless to say he hated that job. He was like the middleman between the government and the plant. And the employees of course hated complying with the regulations because it meant more work, a lot more work.
So he quit, we came out here, and he was going to be a home inspector. And then the same company he worked for that staff the power plant offered him a job where he could work from home. It was too good to be true. So now he is back into power plant compliance and hates it just as much. But it does get to see how different states impose the regulations, and he says they are vastly different. And even some of those in the Northeast are quite reasonable and aren’t trying to put the power plants out of business. That’s just trying to cut off your nose to spite your face! For California they’ll just have to import more power and have no control over it. If they really cared about the environment, they would want the power plants to stay in their state where they have control over them.
Does your daughter teaching California? I won’t even ask how she likes it, since she has to deal with common core. But maybe it’s the lesser of evils.
I didn’t know that bit of history, thank you!
We had that a couple of nights ago! I have to say it was one of the better frozen meals I have had. Or maybe it was Country Fried Chicken, it was some sort of boneless breaded chicken. But with the cream gravy and mashed potatoes. But it was real chicken not processed. I’ll have to look for the chicken-fried steak version.
