Oh, I know. My daughter actually worked for the government in California doing environmental studies and inspections where the electric company wanted to expand and improve. She got fed up with the idiocy of it all and went to work for a construction company, shielding them from the stupid environmental wackos.
She also worked for the government regulators on fishing, going out for weeks at a time on fishing boats. She found out how stupid those regulations are too. Now she just teaches science in high school.

California will always blame the private companies, always.

Sounds like she had a similarly frustrating job as my husband did. He was the environmental manager at that power plant. So his job was to make sure that they complied with all the regulations and didn’t get fined too much. On the other hand, the power plant needed to be profitable and he had to find a reasonable way to accommodate those regulations. Needless to say he hated that job. He was like the middleman between the government and the plant. And the employees of course hated complying with the regulations because it meant more work, a lot more work.

So he quit, we came out here, and he was going to be a home inspector. And then the same company he worked for that staff the power plant offered him a job where he could work from home. It was too good to be true. So now he is back into power plant compliance and hates it just as much. But it does get to see how different states impose the regulations, and he says they are vastly different. And even some of those in the Northeast are quite reasonable and aren’t trying to put the power plants out of business. That’s just trying to cut off your nose to spite your face! For California they’ll just have to import more power and have no control over it. If they really cared about the environment, they would want the power plants to stay in their state where they have control over them.

Does your daughter teaching California? I won’t even ask how she likes it, since she has to deal with common core. But maybe it’s the lesser of evils.

Here, in NYS, if a person rescues and re-habs a deer that was hit by a car and perhaps broke a leg, if found out by authorities (NYSDEC), that person could be fined and/or sent to jail for a few month or longer.

Yet, we are supposed to welcome gang invaders.
