Well I tried to let the hubby peel the sweet potatoes this morning. He messed up the first one so bad I took over the job. So far the wrist is no worse than usual. The sweet potatoes turned out fabulous. Added brown sugar as I mashed them. Our crew ate almost the whole 6 pounds! You know something is good when the bowl is empty. Just enough left for me to have tomorrow with other goodies I took home.

Hi Spunky
Dinner over, ended up putting the entire turkey in the oven. Two and a half hours. Heated up sides and made my own mashed potatoes (for son). Dinner turned out great. but all the last minute things were the same as if I did everything from scratch. Turkey was great but I don’t think I will by a pre cooked dinner again. Do nott think it was that much less work.

Kitchen clean up is the same

Yikes - that’s darn cold. Where did fall go? I still have a tree on the front lawn that hasn’t lost its leaves - and they’re still green. It’s like they got flash frozen in place lol.

You say you put the Turkey in the oven for 2 1/2 hours. Wasn’t it already cooked? If so that seems like a long time to warm it back up. Did it get dried out?

I got to see/hear the President make his Thanksgiving day calls to our troops. It was wonderful!

I’m glad your wrist didn’t get any worse with the sweet potatoes. That’s amazing that they all got eaten. Good thing you planned on so many.

We went out, which seems sacrilegious. On the other hand it looks like a whole bunch of other people do the same thing every year because it was packed. I hope next year my arms will be better and I won’t have to do that again though. I don’t like not getting to have turkey sandwiches for the next day!
