Isn’t it ironic that large Caravans of people are marching to our border wanting U.S.A. asylum because they are fearful of being in their country - yet they are proudly waving....

....their country’s flag. Can this be possible? Yes, because it is all a BIG CON, and the American taxpayer is paying for it!

checking in. shock of shocks.. wifi here for now. Might not be around even long enough to post.

Another day with a ton of help from my BBF Murphy.

Yes, I found wifi.. but had to walk about a mile to a gas station/convenience store to get it.

Why didn’t I drive? The van wouldn’t start. AAA was overwhelmed due to the weather and said it would be at least 2 hours and up to 4 I had an appt to take my note book to have the repair work done on the earphone outlet(not done the other day as they needed to order an extraction tool). Called them and told them Id be there when I could

AAA couldn’t start it. Man had a mechanic friend who came out and did a little magic.. something to do with electric alnd alternator.. so again poorer but have wheels again. Took the Notebook Pro to be repaired. Ran some errands, picked it up when it was ready and now back at hotel enjoying the heating pad and a glass of wine. Going to make later sandwich..good buns, a swiss chees, tomato, mayo and avocado a bit later.

several of you have written to me about son Jeff.. rather than replying individually will do it here in the interest of lacking posting opportunities and writing time.

I had NOT discussed last night him coming here but did write him a text just before i came here and invited him. Told him we could help each other a lot if he was willing to give it a try. He indicated to me last night he can hardly walk. From what he describes it is lower back, sciatic issue. Rampart in our family - both sides. He also was born with a bilateral club foot and that I am sure complicates it. I am pretty sure I can get him gratis chiropractic and I can do a decent job of massaging.. wish I had connections along that line. He worked for a landscaper this past summer/fall and apparently it did him in. Her was a HS state champ wrestler and body builder.. to know he is in such rough shape breaks my heart.

He has no power in his trailer (which he owns & rents the land, which he would like to buy)and has been living in his jeep as much as sleeping in the “home”. I think his two roommates have moved in with girlfriends. He lives in Hanging Rock. the foot hills of the moutains that border VA & NC. It is beautiful breathtaking country

He may or may not be able or wiling to come. He has his two kids there. One is a nurse and heavily involved with a guy for a couple years. His son is 13 and pretty much not in to parents at this points.. so that is a break.

A few years ago when he was hurting (don’t think it ever stopped) financial l, physically and emotionally he rejected my invite to come as he didn’t want to be away from kids. Other two issues are transportation. He has a cook camp jeep but it is NOT in the best shape and not sure if it is trip worthy. I told him if he could borrow gas money Would immediately send a check to the lender.

He is very anti drug.. Smoker and that is something I know over the years he has struggled with to quit. Kids in the south start smoking and chewing at a very early age unfortunately. Many of their families have all their livelihood in the tobacco industry. It is a terribly difficult addiction to overcome. My own dad died at my age with heart issues that were attributed to 50 years of smoking

He like me does drink.. Not sure to the extent but know it is limited to $$

I TRULY appreciate all the notes and good wishes and advise.. Lots to go in the hopper. I am writing this so all who are curious know what’s happening in Dolly’s world.

IF by some miracle the home can be livable again, I would offer it for him to live in with me.. with the idea it would be his eventually. I feel I can earn money to live if I can get over this current hump. My parents built the home and my son was very close to them - especially my dad

An interesting aside. He worked for many years in the building industry. Does all aspects and started doing drywalling. the fact that I have 5 rooms in the lower level ALL with collapsed ceilings is something he could do. One of the ceiling openings is 5’ X 8”. Water damage and raccoons responsible for all

If Jeff has no interest in the property - he likes NC, as I do.. winters suck when you are an adult! He is 46. When I sell it will make sure he has $$... and I will probably do some “regulating” as where it goes..

Mark Knoller ‏

On Saturday, Pres Trump travels to California to get a first hand look at some of the damage wrought by the raging wildfires. He'll talk to firefighters and survivors of the deadly blazes. He issued a disaster declaration last Monday, assured @JerryBrownGov of federal assistance.

Should we tell Stacy it doesn't change the outcome of the election or is it too soon? Let time heal her pain before more devastating news is dropped in her lap. #RedNationRising

Mark Knoller...It's Saturday morning in Cairns, Australia. @VP meeting with Deputy PM Michael McCormack. He then flies to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea to attend the APEC Summit. Addresses the APEC CEO Meeting, then has talks with Australia's new PM Scott Morrison. Later attends APEC Dinner.

.@VP boards Air Force Two in Cairns, Australia for flight across the Coral Sea to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to attend the @APEC Summit, substituting for Pres Trump.

Most interesting is that Papua New Guinea imported 40 luxury Maseratis to ferry APEC leaders from event to event. Unlikely Secret Service will use one for the @VP.

Congratulations to Brian Kemp on becoming the new Governor of Georgia. Stacey Abrams fought brilliantly and hard - she will have a terrific political future! Brian was unrelenting and will become a great Governor for the truly Wonderful People of Georgia!

tacey Abrams: "Says Kemp won by suppressing the people's right to vote."

Except those people are either dead, illegal aliens, imaginary and non-existent or had already voted several times.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/11/06/us/elections/results-house-elections.html

We lost 36 seats so far in this election.

The Dems now have 231 seats.

The GOP has 198.

There are 6 seats where votes are still being counted.

218 seats are needed for control.

Mia Love(R) may win her seat in UT; Mimi Walter(R) will probably lose hers in CA. The other four I don’t know anything about.

That sounds so painful for your poor son. i have definite empathy for anyone hurting, especially when they have to make a living and it is interfering.

Prayers he gets to feeling better and you both get help with living arrangements!

Dolly, if your son is not able to come and help you fix the house have you thought of contacting Habitat for Humanity? They are volunteers who help the elderly fix their homes.
