5-1
That’s exactly the problem. Analytics in baseball are like the form chart in racing. It can give you information about tendencies and past performance, but not about today.
That’s why I always walk down to the paddock after I read the form. Similarly, you can’t manage today’s game by the numbers alone. They’ll give you useful information, but they’re not the be all and end all.
How is your guy doing tonight?
He’ll get a huge contract somewhere.
I hope wherever it is the fans will boo him.
gotta rank this team with some of the great ones...108 wins reg season ...number 1 hitting team..number 2 in pitching...
Congrats to my hometown team! Been watching them since I was 7 years old.
Used to take the subway into Fenway for night games when I was 11 years old, alone!
Yep, and the next 2 pitchers in about 12,pitches total gave up 4 runs.
Pitching sucked overall.
The better Team Won, period.
I thought it would go six Games with Boston on top.
Oh well. Fox is missing out on some big Advertising money.
I never understood how the public can get so excited about these things. Theres nothing to gain. No money, no fame. If youre a roofer in Boston and a big Red Sox fan...youre still a roofer.
Welcome to America, albie. We are a strange people.
Entirely predictable. Boston was the better team on paper and in the field.
In other words...Sunday night.
Not everything is about politics. I didnt hear anyone talking about anything but baseball last night.
I knew the Dodgers were going to choke again, it’s in their DNA!
Amen! I grew up a Dodgers fan since attending my first pro game in LA in 1966. Alas, too many teams rely on pitch count anymore. When a guy is on a roll, let him pitch. The management is too clever by half.
It was either Pearce or Price for MVP in my opinion.
LOL..............
But alas, liberal "Presidential Historian", sweet old Doris Kearns Goodwin is happy. Good for her.
There is something so nice about women who LOVE baseball.

Nice response. Besides, the Sox would have never have made it to the post-season without his bat - he had a great offensive year in '86.
Ever watch the movie, "Moneyball"? Its about analytics. Boston bought into it with Bill James after Oakland showed it could get you to the playoffs on a budget. Boston has the deep pockets to take it to the next level. They have a great mix of role players.
It was a good game, and series. Would have been nice to win final in Boston, but...
Congrats Boston!
(ya think there might be drinkin?)
Yeah. Mahk’s gonna set a dumpsta on fiya!
