The Dodgers lost because they over-relied on analytics.Ever watch the movie, "Moneyball"? Its about analytics. Boston bought into it with Bill James after Oakland showed it could get you to the playoffs on a budget. Boston has the deep pockets to take it to the next level. They have a great mix of role players.

But still, what did in the Dodgers was they are really a hot and cold team. Early this season, the Dodgers played terrible, and in the end they fell back into that early-season form.
