Or at least uninstall some of the bits you really don't want
Microsoft has announced that its customers will finally be able to remove more of the cruft that arrives with a Windows 10 installation. In 2019.
While Slow and Release Preview ring Windows Insiders got to experience Redmonds latest efforts to stabilise the troubled OS, Fast ring and Skippy testers got their hands on a fresh build of the 2019 version of Windows 10 (aka 19H1).
Build 18262 has finally introduced the ability to uninstall some more of the preinstalled Windows 10 apps (also confusingly known as "inbox"), such as little-used 3D Viewer, aka Mixed Reality Viewer. The following apps can also now be uninstalled:
Users would previously need to exercise their PowerShell muscles to get the things off their system. While we at The Reg are big fans of PowerShell (and all things CLI), it seemed a little harsh to force customers to resort to the command line or Registry editor to remove unwanted apps.
It is already possible to remove the likes of Solitaire, Skype and Weather. Sadly, it doesnt seem that Microsofts largesse extends to making the Edge browser uninstallable.
The update also includes better visibility into which apps are likely to throw a wobbly in a high DPI environment and introduces a "Troubleshoot" function, which makes use of diagnostic data slurped from the PC to suggest fixes for problems. It sounds suspiciously like those helpful websites that claim to spot issues on your rig and offer a fix, before spraying your OS with layer upon layer of malware. Just without the malware bit.
Significantly, the Windows Insider team cautioned that as this is early on in development, builds may contain bugs that might be painful for some. It seems a shame that they didnt slap a similar warning on the release code too. ®

Some of my PCs came with Win10, I just remove it and install Win 7 or 8.1 instead. (And often also Linux as a second option to boot into.)
i use that classic shell too
Yeah i know abotu delaying updates in win 10- but what i mean is like in windows 7 you go to ‘windows update’ and can choose to install all updates, or individual ones, and ones you know are bad updates (after reading about problems with them online- Say a KB update breaks something, but you haven’t installed it- you read about the problem online, and you avoid that particular KB update by choosing not to install it when you go to windows update app) You can hide- you don’t have to get that particular update- in win 10, you have no choice, you eventually have to get all updates they throw at you-
It’s just another option that win 10 took away from users-
[[Thanks. Now I will probably encounter this word several times over the next several days.]]
LOL- just like when someone says “Look at the clock, it says 3:33, or 4:44” or something like that- so every time ya look at clock in following weeks it’s 2:22, 3:33, 4:44 etc- it’s spooky how that happens sometimes
Never understood how MS was able to legally force install that crap OS Spyware on someone’s PC without permission.

Yup, just another item under the “Why it sux” category. I’ll just keep Win 7 on a few machines after it’s support runs out. I won’t use it for anything online, but just to run some Windows programs I prefer to keep using.
I can access anything on Win7 using Linux, so no problem with file management between operating systems.
Give me back the classic start menu.
I don't want to see 'tiles'.

there were lawsuits over it actually
Is there a “STOP MAKING EVERYTHING SLOW” button? The crap you have to go through to stop processes that bog down your performance is ridiculous!
Does it do anything to speed up the OS boot?
Will they have something that won’t download updates, reboot and kill files which I haven’t saved yet?
. . .its spooky how that happens sometimes.
You can already do all that ...and more ... with Bob.Omb’s Modified Win10PEx64.

Two Words: Linux Mint Cinnamon
Pretty much agree with your list. I’d keep the calculator.
I find calculator and paint useful. I don’t use mail.
this just sounds silly to me
Disk space is cheap, and most of those apps don't run background processes. But in many environments (businesses, and homes with young'uns) the presence of those apps can create confusion or invite trouble.
