In French, a repeated pronoun is used with reflexive verbs.
When used with a non-reflexive verb it forms the imperative. In this case Nous nous would be understood as "We ourselves" with an implied "and no others".

Same reason the secret service tries to protect the president’s DNA. So that no one could hack her ancestry dna, and find a way to leave that signature on some criminal scene for a crime of which she is TOTALLY innocent.
