Instead, they allowed the question to become Ford's "credibility" -- meaning her believability. She's believable. So they lose.

It sounds like she snuck out of the house after the incident and left her best friend, Leland, alone with four boys, two of whom had moments earlier tried to rape her. It doesn’t make sense that she didn’t try to get her best friend out of there too. Either by asking her to leave with her or getting the police or a parent to go in and get the best friend out of a dangerous situation.
