Today marks the 17th anniversary of the devastating September 11th terrorist attacks that left 2,996 people dead and more than 6,000 others injured in the United States.
The horrific day began when hijackers crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into floors 93-99 of the World Trade Centers North Tower at 8.46am. Minutes later at 9.03am, United Airlines Flight 175 was crashed by hijackers into floors 75-85 of WTCs South Tower.
Everyone aboard both planes were instantly killed along with those on the affected floors inside both towers.
Within less than an hour of the two attacks on the Twin Towers, a third hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. A fourth hijacked plane was stopped from hitting the intended target by passengers and that aircraft crash landed in a Shanksville, Pennsylvania field. The fateful day has since been known as the worst domestic attack the United States has every experienced.
At the time of the first attack on the North Tower, then-President George W. Bush was participating in a reading demonstration with children at Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida. His discussion with the young students ended quickly as he rushed to an empty classroom to receive updates on the situation as it unfolded.
Now, a collection of captivating and harrowing images that are a part of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum focus on Bushs leadership during the tragic time in Americas history.

Amazing how quickly things change.
I'd still argue that Bush Jr. was a better choice than AlGore or Kerry, just as McCain or Romney were better choices than Obama. But it's a matter of inches, the choice was between liberal democrats and slightly less liberal democrats.
'Tis why Trump is such a breath of fresh air.
I remember thinking at the time that I was glad we had Bush as Prez instead of Al Gore. I think even some 'rats said as much. Looking back at Bush's "War on Terror", his declaration that "Islam is a religion of peace", his keeping Norm Mineta as Transportation secretary, etc, I don't think it would have made any difference which Uniparty candidate had won.
Which isn't saying much.
I’m with you 100%. I would still vote for Bush, not even .001% I wouldn’t.
But I will say, that highlights the absolute contempt I feel for people like Gore and Kerry to say that, because my opinion of George Bush at this time is pretty damn low!
He also flung our borders open instead of buckling down on who was getting in here and on the VISA overstays. He basically did nothing as far as I can tell.
Citation?
IMHO, that opportunity was sown when the Congress led by Teddy and John F'n Kerry decided we must lose the Vietnam War and made sure of it; and then Jummah Cahtah threw the Shah under the bus and installed the Ayatollah. Jihadists in the Middle East easily recognized the vacuum and rushed to fill it.
We dread to believe we were so, so conned by this seemingly nice man.
Yes, I think one of the real tests is this. If they were silent during Obama’s terms in office, then they have no right to a voice now.
Screw ‘em.
Sure made me feel like a fool. But then again, I am often more trusting of people than perhaps I should be...
As I said in another post, I would still take him over the alternatives offered, but that isn’t saying much...
“At least W didnt apologize to the worlds 9th Century knuckledragging pig fornicators, like algore would have.”
Yeah, at very least he didn’t do that.
#11 The checked cleared from the Saudi’s
BTTT
I would agree with that...
We lacked then and still lack the will to fix that mistake.
Trying again-
I completely agree with you.
...and, as it turns out, include Riyadh.
Although there’s a long way to go, over the past 17 years we’ve made some progress in the necessary objective of eradicating this ROT (i.e., Religion of Terror) from the face of the Earth. Watching these videos I just pray that America which was so savagely attacked and is the last best hope for civilized society does not elect leaders who are too weak, too unwise or too callous to do what must be done to prevent this from ever happening again.
Not saying he’s a suspect, but it is just another weird coincidence.
It looks like to me that plastic surgery is up with her face.
It’s just tight, not a lack of concern on her part, I think.
