Today marks the 17th anniversary of the devastating September 11th terrorist attacks that left 2,996 people dead and more than 6,000 others injured in the United States.
The horrific day began when hijackers crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into floors 93-99 of the World Trade Centers North Tower at 8.46am. Minutes later at 9.03am, United Airlines Flight 175 was crashed by hijackers into floors 75-85 of WTCs South Tower.
Everyone aboard both planes were instantly killed along with those on the affected floors inside both towers.
Within less than an hour of the two attacks on the Twin Towers, a third hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. A fourth hijacked plane was stopped from hitting the intended target by passengers and that aircraft crash landed in a Shanksville, Pennsylvania field. The fateful day has since been known as the worst domestic attack the United States has every experienced.
At the time of the first attack on the North Tower, then-President George W. Bush was participating in a reading demonstration with children at Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida. His discussion with the young students ended quickly as he rushed to an empty classroom to receive updates on the situation as it unfolded.
Now, a collection of captivating and harrowing images that are a part of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum focus on Bushs leadership during the tragic time in Americas history.

I supported him also but he sure was a disappointment.
Remember when he used the word “Crusade” and the howls were so loud he back tracked so fast he left flaming footsteps.
Just the start of his pattern of not standing his ground. And my first awareness that he was a weaker man than he appeared.
We really blew the opportunity to stop islamofascism.
The Clinton’s should have been taken into Federal custody along with many of their cohorts for their criminal behavior up to then.
Too bad he caused the unnecessary deaths of American troops.
“Were not necessarily being complacent...”
FBI has been totally focused on harming Trump and oblivious to their real responsibilities. But then they were not much better on 9/11...couldn’t figure out why moslem student pilots weren’t interested in learning how to land.
This.
“And remember, given it was the largest domestic attack since Pearl Harbor, not one government intelligence worker was fired or disciplined.”
Admiral Kimmel and General Short were scapegoated for Pearl Harbor but apparently no one had any culpability for 9/11.
At least W didn’t apologize to the world’s 9th Century knuckledragging pig fornicators, like algore would have.
That was a rough day and days afterwards. Not sure I’ve ever cried so much or been as angry.
THIS.👆🏻
Here's one that bothers me. What is up with that look on Laura Buch's face? Caption that shiot. Condi looks concerned at least
Frank Gaffney and the Center for Security Policy did a documentary and in it, there’s pictures of Bush Jr doing a photo op in FL with a few of the 9/11 perps before 9/11. He was trying to play nice with them and then 9/11 happened. Personally, I think Bush Jr was not all that bright and was clueless about all this. I imagine he was filled in later by dad. Stupid puppet but hey, the Bush family is set for many generations to come and that’s what life is all about once you and your kids and grand kids are already set for life. Legacy. Good name or bad name doesn’t matter much as long as your picture is on the wall for your great great great grandkids to admire. ($$$$$$$$)
Robin Williams made a joke in his last stand up gig about Bush Jr getting the presidency as a graduation gift.
Guess we broke that cycle with Trump. No wonder they hate him so much. Screw the JFK files. I want the 9/11 files released.
I do not care about George Bush.
Any photos of Hillary?
The photo we should have seen on Sept 12, 2001 was the mushroom cloud rising from the ashes of Mecca.
9/11 and its aftermath were Bush’d finest hour. But he wasn’t tough enough. Still, the toughness of the response stunned the terrorists.

Here’s what I remember about Bush in the days following 9/11.
Bush: “Islam is a religion of peace.”
Just two of the many reasons that I despise Bush the Younger:
He played footsie with the Saudi’s, and he wiped out every cent I had invested in the Markets.
Bush II refused to secure the borders when we were attacked.
Then he called Islam a religion of peace in the face of 1396 years of evidence to the contrary.
Only because he was followed by an ineligible usurper is he not the worst President ever.
And bush attacked Iraq instead of Iran when his own people called Iran the worst supporter of terrorism of any nation in the world
A family of assassins...
