Tennis star Naomi Osaka, 20, kept a reporter in check after throwing her a question that neglected her Haitian roots.
Upon winning the third round of the Australian Open against Ashleigh Barty (6-4, 6-2) on Jan. 20, Osaka spoke to a male reporter who wanted to know what her victory as a very proud Japanese means for her people.
Reporter: You moved to New York when you were two years old and lived in the United States for a long time, but youre very proudly Japanese, obviously. What will this victory mean for the people back home, for both sets of fans who will be watching this for you?
Osaka: Actually, I live in FL now. But, I mean, of course Im very honored to be playing for Japan. But my dads side is Haitian, so represent. But um, yeah. I forget the rest of your question. Sorry!

She’s easy on the eyes.
The MSM is obsessed with race...and the color of someone’s skin.
This question represents everything that is wrong with sports reporting today.
Serena is the perfect example of the Hillary 2016 election. They said she was everyone’s favorite and that everyone wanted her to win. The media predicted she would win, She cheated with hand signals, and was fed information from CNN...I mean her coach. While on the court She threw a temper tantrum because she was behind and broke her racket when she lost, getting beaten by an unknown. Then starts blaming everybody but herself for losing. Watch for Russian collusion in the coming days
Reminds me of an old Monty Python routine with a TV talk show of prestigious academics (archaeologists, I think) and after getting the flowery introductions out of the way, all the questions were about the height of the individual men. The archaeologist who was 6'4" got most of the questions. When another objected that he was being ignored, the host whirled on him and said, "You're 5'7", of course I'm ignoring you!"
I feel like America has gone in this direction. Skin color matters more than anything, and there is only one "good" skin color.
I’m disgusted her moment of glory was stolen by that roid raging she-beast.
Mixed race kids usually are. Dunno why. Maybe just DNA having fun with new toys to play with.
Haitians don’t speak French. They speak a French Creole. There is quite a bit of difference and the Creole is filled with a crazy amount of idioms.
Regardless, she conducts herself a lot better than Williams.
And as we see with George Zimmerman, the Social Justice Warriors desire to set themselves up as a Genetic Purity Gestapo, dictating to others what race they are or are not allowed to be part of regardless of parantage.
While that is true, in this case I'm going to have to disagree with Osaka and agree with the reporter.
Osaka is a Japanese (and US) citizen. She was born in Japan. She was not born in Haiti. The reporter's question really had nothing to do with skin color and race. It was about her country of origin.
I think the reporter's question was legit and Osaka was being color obsessed.
A white Hispanic.
Why the MSM...is so stupid..is interesting.
But I think it's either one of two things....They are educated idiots from colleges that have filled their minds with mush. OR...they know exactly what they are doing...because they want what they want.
Prolly a combo....
People really need to say that defending Serena in her loss is RACIST.
Because her opponent is intersectional race Japanese and Haitian people refuse to accept her win.
Unless this kind of abuse is thrown back in the face of radicals, they will continue with their temper tantrum drivels to manipulate.
But I think you are wrong.
We can still do this in America....
That is disagree.
“...and there is only one ‘good’ skin color.”
And it is CLEARLY not the one that FOUNDED this GREAT Country of ours.
White people are SO evil. *SPIT*
Reminds me of when I lived in England.
Not long after arriving, I found myself in need of directions to Victoria Station from another part of London. I was already having a bit of difficulty tuning my ears to the British accent, so when I spotted a black guy walking down the street, I thought, "Oh good, a fellow black man. Maybe he can help me."
I ask the guy for directions, and what do you know - he's got the thickest Cockney accent I've ever heard. Even after I asked him to slow waaaay down, I still only understood one out of every three words.
Exactly. My brother is married to a Filipina and my relatives on that side chuckle when a white Dummycrat talk to them like they’re liberals who hate whitey and quickly assume they vote D.
“Reminds me of when I lived in England.”
A friend had a similar experience. He met a black man there who had a thick Scottish accent — hard to understand!
To bad her victory glory was stolen by Williams’ boorish behavior.
The left is all about tribalism. 24/7
