Chipotle in Powell between July 26 and 30
Chipotle said that it voluntarily closed the store last week for 24 hours after the period the illnesses were reported, replacing all of its food and cleaning and sanitizing the restaurant.
Sheila L. Hiddleson, the health commissioner from the county, said in an email that it was still awaiting lab results to determine the cause of the sicknesses.
The Dayton Daily News said that tests have so far come back negative for Salmonella, Shigella, E. coli and Norovirus.
Chipotle has had some high-profile issues with food safety before. A federal inquiry examined the Denver-based chains food safety practices in 2015 after 207 people became ill with norovirus after eating at an outpost in California. As The Posts Caitlin Dewey reported, outbreaks of E. coli, salmonella and norovirus prompted it to close more than 2,000 locations for food safety training in February 2016.

“lab results to determine the cause of the sicknesses”
Betting the cause of the sickness is not in the lab, but in the choice of employees.
Easy answer: They ate at Chipotle.
Or possibly industrial sabotage. The employees Ive seen look just fine - the usual young part-time food service workers, probably students.
Chipotle , The Home of the Unwashed
With the constant tainted food problem it is hard to figure why people would go there to eat and get ill.
That’s almost 10 more than usual.
“More than 600 people got sick after eating at one Chipotle. Health officials dont know why yet.”
Glad I didn’t have to clean up that mess!
Tattoos and piercings where I am.
Hepatitis?
Yeah. They have had these kinds of thing way too often at chipotle.
Youre better off going to McDonalds or even Taco Bell.
Why does ONE restaurant chain have such never ending problems with food contamination in their supply line?
Are they producing their own raw food stuffs in their own facilities or are they buying from the same suppliers as other chain restaurants?
Hmm....Very interesting.
This is at least the second wave of Chipotle making dozens of customers sick. Something similar happened about a year ago.
I almost think this company is being sabotaged. They know how to operate a good eatery, and have done so for many years.
I’m not much into their style of food, too many cheeses in everything to suit me, but I know many people who love Chipotle’s fresh ingredients and general ambiance.
Now, suddenly all these people are getting sick, or making that claim anyway. It may even be a disgruntled employee responsible. This happens at times with fast food. People hold grudges and use passive-aggressive methods to retaliate.
I won’t eat a Chipotle. They hire illegal aliens and their health standards are zero.
Localized restaurants don’t seem to have a problem. Heck, even Taco Bell has less of a problem. My evil twin kind of finds amusement that Chipolte, which always had a holier-than-thou attitude, can’t keep their food safe.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you I needed that today
Lavo las manos.
I’ve never eaten at a Chipolte restaurant. And with these continuing reports of people getting sick after eating there, I have no desire to eat at one.
I don’t eat at Chipottle.
Too much risk of illness.
It’s over 700 now ,LOL
