SALINE COUNTY, Ark. - The sound of a barking dog echoes down terrace drive.
A sound that may haunt Bobby Brimer.
"I mean it hurts to even think about what I've seen," he said.
Monday morning, returning from errands, he turned on a road he's driven up for 30 years, only to witness an horrific attack.
"Seen these dogs dragging a woman down the road into the ditch."
He jumped out of his truck with his cane and tree trimming tools and tried to beat away the 8 or 9 dogs from the helpless woman.
"She was laying in the fetal position and one dog had her by the leg the other by the neck pulling her," he said.
He says her injuries are extensive.
"Looked like a jugular vein cut right here," he said pointing at his neck.
"She had blood squirting out of her."
He says the woman was attacked by the dogs outside where they live.
He says the owner has been told by neighbors that the animals are aggressive.
"For them to be on a little woman like that and tearing her a part, somebody needs to pay," he said.
When Saline County deputies arrived, one dog tried to attack an officer and was shot but not killed.
Three dogs, including the one that was shot, are now quarantined with Saline County.
Deputies are still trying to catch another one in the neighborhood that sits on the porch of the owner's home.
"Won't be no more walking up through there without a weapon," Brimer said.
The woman's identity has not been released. We were told she was in surgery for the majority of the day but her current status is unknown.
MISDEMEANOR???
Why don’t you? As long as these idiotic dog bashing threads appear here; I will fight back.
The real question is why aren’t you? The fact that you aren’t fighting back against them tells me all I need to know about you.
I think theres a decent 99% chance that some of the owners involved in these attacks arent just hapless bystanders who didnthe know what they were getting.
I agree. First anyone who lets his dogs run loose is a a$$hole of the first magnitude. Second why have multiple vicious dogs if you're not either
"The prevalence of particular dog breeds can also change rapidly over time, often influenced by distinct peaks of popularity for specific breeds. It seems that increased popularity is sometimes followed by increases in bite reports in some large breeds. For example there was a distinct peak in American Kennel Club registration of Rottweilers between 1990 and 1995, and they come at the top of the list of 'biting breeds' for the first time in studies of bites causing hospitalization in the late 90s and early 2000s
And right before Rotties, was Dobermans and before that was German Shepherds. Chow Chows are probably more apt to bite someone but they never became as popular as these other bad fad dogs.
Have you ever once searched for good pit bull stories?
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=pit+bull+saves&t=ffsb&ia=web
There's quite a few of them. Saving babies from fires etc. I don't trust any of the pit bulls around here because most of the owners are meth heads that want a dog that will tear someone apart and most don't really have control over their dogs because they never taught basic obedience.
The problem with pitbulls isn’t the breed itself as much as it is the kind of owners who gravitate towards them. In the ‘hood and the barrio, pitbulls are the street thug’s dog of choice. Their owners don’t discipline or train them any more than they discipline or train their own spawn, so is it any wonder that you wind up with vicious, feral animals instead of pets?
Fine, then put the owner down and you can foster the dogs and see how that works out for you.
Amish poodles Im thinking.....
That’s adorable. And the internet is filled with loveable goofy photos of pit bulls with kittens, wearing cute costumes, etc.
But they are bred for centuries for traits of aggression and what they call “gameness”, it’s determination to press on with an attack when it commences.
And they kill more innocent people, including babies, old women, toddlers, etc than any other breed. It’s not even close. And the problem is getting worse because it has become the preferred breed of the thug, doper, and troublemaker type.
Look, you dog bashers are nothing more than another hate group, and you really have no place on FR to spew your hate. Take it to PETA or the DU where you belong. There are hundreds of liberal sites for you get your hate jollies off.
In Arabic, pitbull means “peace”.
Exactly. The nasty dog fighters pick breeds they can teach to be mean fighters because they are in fact teachable. That's a Pit Bull. The problem isn't the dog, like those who start these dog bashing threads, the problem is the humans in charge of them.
“...8 or 9 dogs...”
Yikes.
You forgot to put the /s on the end so everyone knows you’re being sarcastic.
Believe it or not; there are those in this hate group who would believe you.
I don’t deny that there are major innate temperamental differences among dog breeds. Just as some are bred for intelligence or trainability, others like pitbulls have been bred to be aggressive. However, if properly trained and disciplined, a pitbull need not be a danger to people. The problem is that moronic thugs who can’t even control their own behavior, much less a dog’s, tend to be the ones who own pitbulls these days.
Additionally, a lot of the problems that you bring up can be avoided if responsible owners would buy their pitbulls from breeders who have known pedigrees for the dogs. If you get rescues at the local dog shelter who have lived in the junkyard (or worse) for generations and have been (consciously or not) selected for feral behavior, you’re likely to wind up with a more inherently vicious dog.
Exactly. It’s mathematics. 100 pit bull litters from aggressive/fighting dogs and 5 pit bull litters from good temperament dogs. 500 puppies-vs-25 puppies farmed out to the public. The odds of getting a stable, good tempered dog are against you. It’s even worse than the poisoned M&M’s in the bowl analogy where SOME are poison(you don’t know which). You’d be a moron to have ANY-even if the percentage is small. In the case of pit-bulls the percentage of dogs from violent dogs is MUCH higher than those from non-violent ones. What is so GOOD about pit bulls(different than other breeds) that makes the risk worth it?
Link only because pictures are disturbing and if you find they bother you after looking remember you were warned
Note child died 3 days after these pictures were taken
