Sliding is really a PITA at 4chan because unlike 8chan/pol let’s say, there are no mods who will delete a post. That and 4chan has a much much lower per thread limit (8chan, is around 751)

So sliding at 4chan is particularly crappy. Now at 4chan and possibly /qresearch on 8chan there is another way to “slide” an important thread. That is for users to create a bunch of garbage posts. I don’t mean necessarily in a post, but on the main board creating new topics.

Meaning that you create so many new topics and so often you literally “slide” an important thread right off the board because just enough people get sucked into all the slide threads that an important thread is soon slid right into the archives.
