Heavy rainfall in Calvert County, Maryland over the weekend led to a toothy discovery, the states department of natural resources announced Monday: prehistoric shark teeth.
The shark teeth were unearthed in a creek in Huntingtown, the department said, which called the teeth a cool find and jaws-dropping treasures.
Huntingtown received roughly 8 inches of rain since Saturday, FOX5 reported.
Theyre huge! one Facebook user said of the find.
Awesome, another wrote.

I have a quartz (or whatever it is) arrow head just like that. I found it in a farmer’s field when I was a kid.

Many years ago....I was about 12 yrs old. Visiting my grandparents in Kansas.
My grandpa...loved to fish an hunt and so did I....
One day....I was walking down this small creek and fishing it's holes....came a cross a fossilized big tooth. Probably a Mastodon...or something like it.
Showed my grandpa,...and he suggested I loan it to the local museum.
I did....along with a buffalo leg bone...that I had found also.
Many, many years later....I went to that little museum..to re-claim my dino tooth....and it was nowhere to be found. One of the past curators stole....anything of value,,and vamoosed with it.
The guy was a teacher in that town...and a jerk. Ticks me off to this day.....
