Least livable: 50 worst US cities to reside in

Quality of life in an American city often depends on the neighborhood one lives in, as abject poverty and crime can be found just blocks away from prosperity. Still, as much as a city can be judged on the whole, some cities face widespread problems that detract from their residents’ overall quality of life.

Americans take into consideration a number of factors when deciding where to live, including the quality of schools, the strength of the local economy and job market, the area’s safety and culture, as well as its climate. Cities that perform well by these measures are more likely to attract new residents, and those that do not tend to drive residents away.

To determine America’s worst cities to live in, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed data on the 551 U.S. cities with a population of 65,000 or more as measured by the U.S. Census Bureau. Based on a range of variables, including crime rates, employment growth, access to restaurants and attractions, educational attainment, and housing affordability, 24/7 Wall St. identified America’s 50 worst cities to live.

Yes, these “conservative” leaners are still 90 percent or more loyal to the national Democratic Party.

I know nothing about that part of Missouri, so I’m glad to hear something good about it. Perhaps their standards were selected to include one or two normal areas - along with the flood of far-left manure piles.

Detroit was once known as the "Paris of the West."

Back in the 1950s, Flint had the highest per capita income for a city of its size in the entire country.

Then the democrats took over ...

Albany georgia is a strict democratic town. Obama won the vote in the town by 69 percent to romneys 30 percent. Same with clinton and trump.

Same thing with Merced. The last time a republican won that town was bush in 2004.

#3: Flint Michigan - “non-partisan” mayors under the city charter

LOL! Right about the time I bugged out of there they elected a Democrat named Woodrow Stanley. He was such a train-wreck that he put the city into receivership and was recalled in a special election. He then became a talk show host on an African-American radio station where he railed every day that the recall was "racist". He parlayed that into a seat in the Michigan State Legislature.

Nice work if you can get it.

Salt Lake City should not be on the list

Agree. Nor should Kansas City be on the list. KC residents have a strong sense of civic pride and it shows. It is also one of the cleanest cities I've visited and I'm well traveled both here in the U.S. and overseas.

I’ve been to both cities. Felt safe in one and looked for the quickest exit in the other.

Fill in the blanks.

Birmingham at #2. Why am I not surprised?

At the turn of the 20th century Birmingham had great potential but one huge mistake happened: Democrats.

It’s a shame because Birmingham is located in a beautiful area with picturesque valleys and ridges. Red Mountain is a beautiful area with a good view of the city. Birmingham also has some beautiful suburbs such as Mountain Brook.

Unfortunately, Birmingham has always been governed by incompetent morons and probably always will be. As I stated earlier: Democrats.

And it just got worse. Recently the new Mayor appointed an LGBTQUXYZ “Representative”. That should go over well with many citizens of Alabama. (Sarcasm)
